Yeah, he said he thinks it's antiquated but never said it can't work.  He was mainly pointing out that we tend to have a big on the wrong block and it hinders everything.

If that post player is going to be on that side of the floor, they need to be about 5 feet further out to give the pick and roll some room to actually work. Problem is, no one cares about Brunk, Davis or TJD being 15 feet from the basket. No reason to worry. Though Davis is probably the best from that distance.

IU fandom as a whole if IU basketball misses the tournament this year:

After last game just getting in the tournament is now not enough. We need to show fight and improvement. Big ten tournament final or big ncaa run. I mean getting in the tournament was enough but getting our buts beat at home by purdue again really is a big deal

This is your brain.

THIS is your brain with unrealistic expectations.

You can’t have two post players in at the same time for extended periods that cannot step out and knock down a jumper or 3.

Having Justin out there at the same time compounds matters further adding another player that cannot shoot and cannot get space to use his strength and athleticism because there is no space

Reading that, I don't think you fully understand the nuances of Archie's version of the Pack Line Offense.

I can understand this and would bet many coaches don’t want the challenge. I would be concerned though, that an elite level coach wouldn’t be confident enough that he could get Indiana to the tournament in 3 years. You have to get results in 3-4 years imo. If we are expected to give coaches 7-8 year blank checks (not saying you’re supporting this), then we all should just pack this in and find another program to root for. I don’t think any of this would be nearly as bad for Archie, if we had something to look forward to in year 4. Next years class, although I like the long term potential, is underwhelming and doesn’t offer any immediate help in areas of desperate need.  He’s struggled at almost every aspect of his job, while at Indiana.

I will admit that it’s going to take a very special coach to win here. This place makes good coaches shrink and turn into poor coaches. It’s a poorly managed program with an absurd amount of expectation. There are very few guys that can get it done here. If Archie is indeed given 7-8 more years, maybe he’s able to get it done. If that’s to happen, Archie needs to have a profound transformation. As of now, he’s shrinking. He absolutely has the roster to make the NCAA tournament. We shouldn’t be finishing near the bottom of the B1G in each of his 3 seasons.

Team was locked in from the tip. Of course DG going lights out in the first half helped. He had a different look, was locked in on both sides of the ball. Still some things to clean up, but loved the effort. Even when Iowa was making runs, cut it down to 9 in the second half, we didn't fold like we have prior.

Also, there is something about Race Thompson. Kid continually has great +/- numbers, and sees to always be on the floor when good things are happening.

Did Iowa get it down to 9? I thought they said Iowa wasn’t closer than 10 from 12 something remaining in the first half.

Regardless, it’s crazy how different this team is when hitting shots. It’s THE definition of bipolar team.

I thought they had at one point, but could be mistaken. I was frantically refreshing draft kings to see if I needed to live bet Iowa ML haha. Was very happy to see them not collapse and hold on for the W.

It feels like we need good Devonte to beat good teams.  Nobody else has that in them on this team.  Then next year we have no Devontes.  I'm worried about next year (and all moving forward) until we can make a change in leadership.  At this point I'm on the tank train.  Good win, I hope we don't see any others.
