From Endlessmotor.net following the latest Nike event -

Steward absolutely dominated in Indianapolis.

D.J. was lethal beyond the arch, knocking down pull-up threes on numerous occasions with some coming from 30 feet away. Steward also did a great job hitting midrange jumpers off the bounce after coming off the high-ball screen where he displayed great elevation and balance on his jumper. The Chicago-area native also excelled as a shot creator getting to the paint. DJ showed solid acceleration with the ball and utilized change of direction dribbles to keep his defender off balance. As a finisher he did a great job of getting into the chest of the defender to create space before converting floaters off the backboard. For the weekend Steward averaged nearly 31 points while pulling down 5.5 rebounds and dishing out 2.8 assists per game on better than 51% from the field.

Slow morning, so watched all of the Steward video I could find. Unlike a lot of kids, there’s quite a bit of useful video of him. He’s a fun watch. Obviously he’s a complete scorer, but what stood out to me is how clever he is around the rim. Uses his off shoulder and arm to create space without fouling,  finds creases in traffic and is able to exploit the space while maintaining his body control and awareness to get the ball on the board and finish. That kid found some outrageous angles. He’ll be an effective scorer even if his shot isn’t falling, which, for me, really differentiates him from a kid like Leal. It’s easy to see Steward’s appeal, he can get a good look at will and he’ll flat kill guys in pick and roll. I hope Miller works this one until the kid says no.

@okonscoutnews: Illinois Brad Underwood, Indiana’s Archie Miller among others watching Whitney Young vs. Schaumburg at the Riverside Brookfield Summer Shootout.

Ah, the life of a college basketball coach on the recruiting trail.  He's in Illinois for this event and then back in Indiana at Ben Davis HS watching Leal, Galloway, Lander, Furst and Goode.

I wouldnt get too worked up over this one. Whitney Young and Duke in the same sentence screams corruption.

So if he was still at Fenwick, what would you say?
