When did I say I speak for the IU masses? I was just giving my opinion based off what I see with our current situation. The only person overreacting is you overreacting to my post. I thought this was an IU Message Board where we could discuss our opinions about IU basketball?

Edit:  Even the usually even-keeled posters are pushing back.  Nothing even going on right now.

It’s been a tough week. Recruiting was slow and uneventful lately and then it appears we lost key targets to UNC, LSU, Memphis and Purdue and finally offered two kids that might have committed had the offer come earlier but are now not jumping at them immediately.

We can say, it’s not who we don’t get but who we do get that matters, it would be nice to see us get one of our targets soon to break out of this slump

Opinions are great. I love the opinions on here... it's largely why I keep coming back. Reading these hot take opinions posted as factual statements is just really starting to get old. But hey, you do you.

 I wasn't trying to state it as a fact. I guess you have to put "in my opinion" in front of everything you say now so I'll try it again. In my opinion, based off what I hear from people I interact with in person and on social media a lot of them are starting to lose faith in Archie.

If Jerome Hunter and Race Thompson are 100% healthy, then we won’t miss any of these guys we missed on. Get either 1 or both of Leal and Galloway and I’m very happy with how the roster is taking shape.

It's clear now what is going on. IU must be an Android school and Memphis is a Mac school. Apple must have promised the parents $ if he chose Memphis and used FaceTime to do it. LQ will endorse the new 2023 AirPods after graduation...and all this time we have been worried about Adidas vs. Nike vs. UA...

That's exactly it. Archie knows he has job security and so obviously doesn't care enough to work hard... That's how college coaches are wired.
Also, what does "recruiting with a sense of urgency" look like?

Players ranked in the 150 range sometimes work out and sometimes don't.  Victor Oladipo was a great find at 136. Damezi Anderson not so much at 125--at least so far.  Rob Phinesee could wind up being a very good point guard at 136. Even the best ones usually take a season or more to contribute consistently.  Phinesee had some good games and some not so good games. The bottom line is that college teams need talent to make it into the NCAA tournament and the best talent will usually be found in the top 100 range. Players ranked below 50 can often contribute right away. That's why Lester Quinones is worth going after. If we get him, he will be able to help right away. If he goes to Memphis, c'est la vie.

I could see him being a Robert Vaden type player. No defense but can hit shots. He just has to see them fall in a meaningful game.

On one hand I want us to “get old”, and see players develop as they become juniors and seniors, but on the other hand I was disappointed in his freshman year shooting and defense. I realize that is a very contradictory position .
