Hearing Courtney Ramey's name mentioned as an option.

Would love for this to be true. Have seen him a ton and Ramey's really, really good. Never stops attacking the rim. Makes the correct pass and in the correct way. And he's so long and has such good instincts that he will eventually be a great, not good, defender. Would be a perfect complement for a player like Langford. I mean, perfect.

That's insane. Not counting this year's class because we don't know what they'll do, 20 of Crean's 42 recruits either transferred or were dismissed. 9 players completed their eligibility. Seeing the numbers is mind boggling.

It's amazing Crean was praised as a great recruiter...  the reason a lot of his classes were ranked so high was the quantity.  He was able to burn through more recruits than the rest of the B1G by a fairly large margin (10 for his first 6 or 7 years).

You can't just take one attribute and say automatically he will be playing because of it.

I agree but I also don't think you can rule him as not getting major minutes especially if we don't get Romeo.

Has good size and length and can rebound his position. Pretty good athleticism too. Ball handling and D I can't speak on fully.

Archie plays a tight rotation so it may be hard to crack but he'll have his chances.

It seems like he got that reputation early on and then was able to live off it as time went by. Part of being a good recruiter is class balance and he had no ability when it came to that. He was able to get some top players, but even some of those didn't pan out very well (thinking of Vonleh and Blackmon specifically).

He was not a great recruiter

I agree. Crean was a good recruiter and had some big commitments but at Indiana he was no where near being a great recruiter

I don't think Coach Crean was a good recruiter. And I think he did the best he could, but he just recruited players with no apparent regard to what we needed. I'm not a Coach Crean basher and I hope he is successful in whatever he chooses to do next, but his run here was over. I want a coach who does things that make sense and I hope that Coach Miller is that guy.
