We're are 0-2 at home. The back half of the schedule gets really tough. Is there anything that gets Crean gone after this season?? How about 5-6 conference wins with this talent and no tourney??

We haven't played a game outside of Indiana since the Kansas game. Between the bad in-state recruiting, constantly getting smoked in Indy, always get smoked at Purdue, and losing at Ft. Wayne, I'm starting to wonder if this has been on long, big joke.

Well, at least someone can.  Maybe he should translate them to the team lol.

Next he could explain to them what the hell Crean is saying with all his "set" euphemisms. This mindset or this skill set blah blah blah. It's his way of camouflaging his utter lack of coaching acumin. A lot of us knew he was a poser from day 1 but we were labeled haters and told to wait til next year. The absolute writing on the wall was getting blasted by Syracuse and they're bum of a coach in 12 with absolutely the best team in the land with 5, 1000 point career scorers on that team. Cheater Boheim did to Crean what Knight did to him in 87. Crean will never again have that much talent nor will he hang a legit banner much less get us to a final four. He's a good person; just a horrible coach. And for not seeing that many years ago which is his job, Glass also needs to go.

Many say who else we gonna get or it has to be a home run hire. I say bull. I gave a viable list 50 pages ago and 2 are coaching in the NBA; 1 maybe not for long. There's a start with Hoiberg. Saban got his clock cleaned in the NFL which didn't scare Alabama granted he won a NC at LSU. Hell, give an upcoming D2 coach with Indiana ties a crack. Knight came from Army for God's sake but a damn good AD saw the promise and gave him a chance. The right coach could be the next one, and if it isn't; then the next one could be. But when the entire seating capacity in Assembly Hall collectively can see how horrible this product is, how freaking dumb or blind or stubborn can one AD be? This horrible decade of basketball must end with a whole new administration.

the state of Indiana has collectively whipped Crean's ass.

So in essence, if the state of IN was a basketball team it has Bo Ryan's offense/fundamentals with Jim Boeheim's zone defense?

Yeah, that's the perfect recipe for Crean getting his ass whipped.

He seems like a good guy, but I've heard "not a nice guy" and "a$$hole" a few times to describe him.

It is hard to find the next coach k but most of the people in section EE feel it is not so hard to find the next Crean. If Brad says not get the next best candidate. If they turn out to be Crean you have not lost anything. If they turn out to be better great. If worse try again.

Sticking with Crean will increase apathy and drive fans away.

Glass needs to follow him out he has been useless for years.

Not sure I agree that Glass should go. He has accomplished some great things at IU. I will say that it's really scary to trust him with the next hire. If he can be the guy that made the mistake of extending Crean, then he's most certainly capable of botching the next hire. Not exactly the best judgement/business/basketball decision. I'm inclined to want to give him a shot to redeem himself on the next coaching hire.

Question -- If Crean manages to turn this around, we finish a game or two shy of the Big Ten regular season title, but we do well in the Big Ten Tournament, not necessarily win it, but we do well. And then in NCAA we make the Sweet 16 but lose a close one to an extremely hot team who would beat anyone on that night. Would you guys want Crean gone?

I don't think he's a good coach.  If this team achieves what you asked, it'll ONLY be because we make shots and teams let us do what we already do well.  It will NOT be because of anything Crean does.  He's not changing.  There's a reason his teams have made it PAST the sweet 16 just once in 19 seasons.  Does anyone think that's a coincidence?   I just don't understand why that's okay at IU.

Yep. A sweet sixteen needs to stop being a metric for success.

Yep. I want someone who can advance past the sweet sixeteen. He has had 9 years. What do we need to give him 20?
