JSHoosier Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 We can use some bowl money for the buyout It wouldn't be needed. The buyout was stupid, but not as stupid as it seems on the surface. It's not paid out in a lump sum, over 5 (?) years actually, and what he makes at his next job if it's in coaching (or broadcasting I believe) is deducted from what's owed. Theoretically Indiana could get away with not paying much of it. 8bucks 1 Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Feeling bad for players is asinine? Ok, I'm sorry. Zone is the wrong defense: that's on Crean. Whose fault is it that they had one or two individuals open on the perimeter all night? Quote
Popular Post HoosierTrav Posted December 3, 2015 Popular Post Posted December 3, 2015 Feel bad for their opportunity to play at Indiana and receive a free degree? Players gotta want to win. Haven't seen it tonight. I'm sick of this excuse. You honestly think these kids don't want to win? What a joke. EVERY kid was a winner before they were coached by Crean. They just flat out don't have the leader on the sideline to compete with high level D1 teams. They are playing complex matchup zones that look like they've just been taught them that day, even though they cannot play fundamental man defense. They play HARD but are LOST. They have been let down by their leader. Plain and simple. This team would look completely different with a competent in game coach. There's no way these boys don't want to win. SteelerHoosier Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Cut ties now. Let the interim do whatever he is going to do and back up the trucks to Brad's house. southsidehoosier, ThompsonHoosier and southernindianahoosier 3 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 I would honestly be ok with it being mid season. See if someone else can make something out of these kids. We know what to expect with Crean. Let's give it a shot to an interim, see if players rally. Hopefully (fingers crossed) find our next coach in offseason. It won't happen though. Popular Post Feathery Posted December 3, 2015 Popular Post Posted December 3, 2015 Firing Crean now would at least put the fanbase to rest and everyone could be 100% behind the team without the Crean distraction. I couldn't care less about the recruiting class at this point. Get a top coach and recruiting takes care of itself. Ryno6284, BTOWN, southsidehoosier and 10 others 13 Quote

cjvz20 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Maybe I'm wrong but seemed like the game went downhill after we started playing zone. We started standing around on d and not chasing the loose balls MikeRoberts 1 Quote

AZ Hoosier Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Feel bad for their opportunity to play at Indiana and receive a free degree? Players gotta want to win. Haven't seen it tonight. Well, they DID come to Indiana with an expectation of actually being coached and having an opportunity to learn how to play the game at a higher level. They are being cheated, IMO. These guys were out there in the second half and nothing was working. They kept looking over to the sideline for direction and got zero adjustment.... They were beat into submission by their coach every bit as much as they were by Duke. I'm proud of the effort they came out with and the focus. They just have to play with one limb cut off. I'm in the group that says there is nowhere to go but up at this point, if Crean were to be let go now. coonhounds, MikeRoberts, CrossboneIU22 and 1 other 4 Quote
8bucks Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Zone is the wrong defense: that's on Crean. Whose fault is it that they had one or two individuals open on the perimeter all night? Crean. On one occasion Z's man passes the ball to Bryant's man who is standing with his back to the basket in the three point line. NZ immediately runs to cover that man too and leaves his man wide open. That is preparation and what he was coached to do. Napleshoosier, Defenserocks28 and MikeRoberts 3 Quote
