Uspshoosier Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 I think we finish out the regular season 19-12. Depending on how the rest of the conference does that could put us as a 7 seed in the BIG tourney (maybe even a 6 but I doubt it) and in that case I see us win 1 lose 1... making our record 20-13 heading into the NIT. If we end up being seeded lower than 7th in the BIG tourney then we lose the first game we play and are 19-13.If iu is 20-13 as u predict they will make the tournament with room to spare. (Meaning a seed better than the last 4 in games in Dayton. 5 more wins means u probably think the will win their home games (Purdue 29), northwestern(33), Michigan(56), penn st(65). 2 more top 50 wins to go along with the ones they already have and 2 more top 100 wins to go along with the ones they have. And the that leaves the last win against a top 100 team on the road. Iu will have to finish 7-11 or 8-10 ( no wins against Purdue, or northwestern) to not make the tournament in my opinion Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
HoosierTrav Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Just be glad you weren't there during my time. I got the last year of Davis. Two years of the cheating and then Creans first year. Oh my Quote
IUHAHN81 Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Does anyone truly know how much pressure Glass is getting to make a change? I mean other than these threads. Local pressure etc? Quote

For many those things do not compare. You call Stevens because you hope that the relationship between college coach and kid is deferent than in the NBA. You hope that the fact that Stevens sent Andrew Smith a skid of Gatorade when he was in the hospital fighting for his life shows how valuable that is to him. You call Stevens because you think he values family more than success. I travelled to the final four Several years ago with someone who had been with Stevens the day before. They told me he was anxious about moving his family to Boston from the Midwest. You hope that maybe returning home has value. You obviously call because you think he can coach but you don't let the fact that he is in Boston dissuade you because you hope Indiana can provide him things that are important to Stevens the man. And he can coach pretty well I'm hoping 8bucks is a pseudonym for Fred Glass. Hoosier_roots and thebigweave 2 Quote
Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Oh myYou will really got the bad end of the deal lol. I honestly feel bad you had to go through that. I went there during Crean's first year and drank myself into going back home to finish college. It may have been Crean's fault even smh.Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

I think the 5 more wins are Penn State at home, Michigan a home, at Iowa (112), (Maybe) Northwestern at home, and (BIG MAYBE) at Ohio State (66), with no wins against Purdue. Then a win against a bottom team in the BIG Tourney before a loss to whoever is next. So in that scenario, only 1 more top 50 and 3 top 100 (including 1 on the road)... So that in your opinion would get us in? Quote
Baltimore Hoosier Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 I have a reoccurring dream/nightmare where I check the btown banner forums in the morning and see a thread stating "Crean Extended." Glass seems like he has bought into whatever Crean is selling and that is scary.. I keep going back to that interview with Izzo the other night where he literally said he could care less about the fanbase. I hope that's not the mentality here. Seemingly, everyone wants Crean out. We've got to hope that donors and boosters are extremely vocal about not letting this regime continue. The longer we wait to change the tide, the longer we wait for real tournament success. A few weeks ago I was weighing the pros and cons of a buy out.. I've run out of cons. Get rid of the guy! Also, remember this? I was dying laughing with a friend about it last night. What a creep. http://www.espn.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/62041/tom-creans-awkward-twitter-foul-up Quote
NateNoel Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 I've been a big supporter of Crean. In fact I was even hopeful IU would hire him after Davis resigned. I am thankful for the work that he has done, but obviously he has taken this program as far as he can. We have seen how this movie ends. Underachieve then overachieve. His best teams have some quality wins and are fun to watch but his worst teams are pretty pitiful to watch. The final product is the same though. They all end with a feeling of what could have been. It doesn't take a great basketball mind to see this program is trending in the wrong direction. There is no doubt in my mind though Crean will recover with an overachieving team and make to the sweet 16 again, but like I said we have seen how this ends. Time for a change GloryDays 1 Quote
HoosierTrav Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 I wouldn't let my kid play for Crean. I've said this same exact thing. If my kid had the opportunity to play where he wanted, I'd likely encourage him to play elsewhere. The ONLY reason Indiana would be an option under Crean, is the fact that I love IU. There are so many better options. Defenserocks28 and thebigweave 2 Quote
