  1. Hello friends, it is me. Your lovely mods went on a mission to find me and get a hold of me. They are amazing and did fantastic work! Based on their research I was able to get in touch with our server and upgrade it to their newer system. Apparently we had maxed out our capacity from all your activity. It shouldn’t be an issue moving forward per what they said to me. all the mods have a group convo with me now so if anything comes up we should be able to troubleshoot it much quicker. Sorry for being MIA so long, glad to see this place is still as special as I left it!

  3. We are officially back and officially into 2025. MASSIVE site upgrades should mean insanely improved performance. That being said, I'll continue to make the site feel more normal and correct colors and what not, I figured getting the site live was priority #1. The rest you guys will be okay with hopefully!

  4. All, I deleted the other thread so that this update gets its own attention. Mods are actively working with IU41, the site owner to take action. One of the mods has communication with him. Additionally, @Hovadipo has communicated with the site hosting service about a resolution. Needless to say, the intermittent service sucks; we are all well aware—mods included and especially. Hang in there; we want it fixed and made right for the long haul. Stu

  5. I wanted to create this thread while we’re still operational just because I’m still in shock. We’re going to the FLIPPIN’ Rose Bowl! Flights are booked and game tickets are purchased. See you there.

  6. I can’t see my signature so no clue what it says lol, it’s not financial, just ran into server limitations because you crazies made too many posts over the last couple years :). I did used to post stuff on Peegs, actually started BtownBanners back in the Crean years when he would always talk about a players +/-. I created an excel workbook that would take the game play data and automatically calculate every player and lineups +/-. I worked with Peegs and Terry Hutchens (RIP) and got those stats published on Peegs and the Indy Star after all games. Then started BtownBanners as a place to keep Them all in one place. I then added a message board and it started to grow. Then a bunch of the mods from some site, I don’t even remember what it used to be for mad and left there to join BtownBanners. Then the site really took off from the message board and Terry Hutchens actually came to work for BtownBanners and we got credentialed with IU. Wild times. a lot more to it, but we basically became one of the biggest IU Twitter accounts before that was really a thing. Ton of fun in this place. I’m still waiting for the day I can reveal the new BtownBanners logo when we get that 6th Banner… it’s been collecting dust for many many years lol

    Fire Scott Dolson

For me? No matter what section this topic is in, any discussion of the potential of firing Scott Dolson might be the most ridiculous take imaginable. Why? Cignetti Moren Aird Yeagley Fundraising Even if Devries doesn't succeed (I generally expect he will) the University is far more likely to build a statue for Dolson than ever remotely consider firing him. He has been a major success as AD IMO. I think that this thread should be buried, even after we occasionally lose a hoops game that we arguably shouldn't. But deleting a thread full of opinions that I disagree with is not my place, so carry on. I am glad it's now in the hoops forum, because that undoubtedly is where the fanbase's collective undies are most likely to get into an overreactive knot.

  12. So I attempted a full site update tonight and it failed. I'll keep working with the server team to improve the site. Should have quite an updated look soon with the update considereing this place hasn't been updated since like 2020ish...

  13. Running out of words to describe this young man. Large Indiana football contingent has taken over the adidas store in New York, offensive coordinator Mike Shanahan is here, QB coach Chandler Whitmer and group of players including Pat Coogan, Charlie Becker and Carter Smith all here in support of Fernando Mendoza

  14. You know how great it can be to walk into grandma,’s house at thanksgiving and all your favorite cousins are there? You can smell the food cooking, see the pies and if like my family you always left with the guys to play basketball once full. Family. But some years you go to the other side of the family. You know, they are nice and all but the cousins aren’t your favorite ones. The food is kinda meh and instead of playing basketball after eating everyone is asleep on the couch and you can’t find the remote to at least watch football. That is what it is like going to other forums when this site goes down. I love grandmas and you guys are the best cousins.

  16. Personally, I love that the rest of the country - the SEC in particular - believes that "if Indiana can do it, so can they." Cignetti was a perfect storm and was both beneficiary and master of the portal and NIL. He brought 13 starters from a ranked team with him. He brought culture and expectations. He brought a familiar, successful, and experienced staff. The turnaround was rapid because of it and much bigger than any of us had a right to anticipate. What he did here cannot be duplicated. Ever. It was a one time event, managed perfectly with a very defined and singular set of circumstances. He was the perfect fit at the perfect time at the perfect place with the perfect circumstances. Lane Kiffin isn't going to do any more at LSU than he did at Ole Miss and LSU paid $70 million to find out. That will happen all over the country. And here we'll sit with everyone else wondering how in the hell we did it. They aren't paying attention to the why or the how. They care only about the "what." And we will watch them all go crazy trying to figure out what we already know. Curt Cignetti - first of all - is one of one. He's Bob Knight reincarnated....football version. The circumstances under which he came here and succeeded won't ever exist again. And it will never be "spending" that succeeds. You have to have what he does....an acute understanding of "how" and the discipline to stay with it. Anyone think Lane Kiffin can do that? He also got every move right when he got here and has continued. He is a leader and he builds leaders. I wish I had a daughter so I could introduce her to Aidan Fisher and others. I wish I were hiring and needed young people to grow and run my company. How many kids on that team will kill it professionally? I am going to truly enjoy the rest of college football chase and try to emulate what Indiana has done. The fools will never understand and I promise we will be the beneficiaries of the craziness.

  18. I don't get it. An IU football player won the Heisman tonight. Our football team is 13-0, B1G champs, No. 1 in the country, is the top seed in the CFP and will play in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1. Why's everyone getting so worked up about a silly little basketball game? Who cares about basketball!

  20. There are two certainties for me: Cig, Shanny, and Whitmer see Alberto every day and already know if he is going to be their featured heir apparent. If they do not want Alberto to be their guy? They will have a **** ton of portal QB's dying to be the guy at IU.

  26. IU finished it non conference part of the schedule last night and will enter January 10-3(1-1). They missed out on 2 Q1a games away from home and a winnable Q2 road game. Moving forward they will have plenty of Q1 and Q2 opportunities at home and away. IUs predictive metrics are solid. Average around the 20s. Ius results based metrics are lower around the mid 50’s. Sos- 175 Non con-173 for an at-large team those are respectable numbers. If your non con sos is in the high 200’s or 300 then that could become a problem. IU didn’t do anything to hurt their resume however they didn’t do much to improve their resume either. They did get a win away from home which always helps( at large team usually needs 4 wins away from home to feel safe). They also didn’t earn any Q1 wins up until this point. Good news is that they play in the B1G and will have chances to get multiple Q1 wins. If you were expecting IU to compete with the upper level teams for a B1G title this year then in my opinion you are going to be disappointed. They don’t have the roster this year for that. In my opinion Sparty, Michigan, Purdue and Illinois are a step above the rest this year (Maybe Nebraska but I can’t go that far). IU has 6 games against the top 4 (2 home games). That leaves 12 games against the rest of the league which are more winnable games. Not saying they won’t win against those top 4 but those should be looked at as bonus games. Ius most important games will be against the other teams fighting for an at-large outside the top 4. IU gets Nebraska and Iowa at home and do not have away games against those 2. Those 2 games are probably the most important games on IUs schedule for now. Most on here and nationally said IU making the tourney would be a good start for Devries in his first year. That’s easily still on the table. Reminder even teams that are tourney locks (8-11 seed) always have flaws. 8 seeds are considered teams that are comfortably in the field and not on the bubble however if you look at some 8 seeds resume you are good to see a lot of red (losses). Are losses coming to IU? Yep but in my opinion some wins will be coming as well biggest surprise of the year so far for me IUs KenPom offensive efficiency-56 IUs KenPom defensive efficiency-16

Kind of odd to bring this thread up on a day where our QB won the Heisman trophy and our football team is the 1 seed in the CFP. He saw what Cignetti could be as a HC and what he could do for this program. Also to do this after 11 games of the basketball tenure is ridiculous

  29. We've been eyeing this potential game for weeks. And now it is set. The lines are out and right now IU is generally around +5.5. This will be a very hard game, but if we can win at Autzen, we can win this one. Go IU! Radio - Varsity Network Radio - WHCC105

  30. Ok, here goes. My old lady has MS, and as we watched his mom the last few weeks, she noticed his mom doesn't even have good use of her arms -- She can't hug her boy. She's going thru a lot, but you wouldn't even know it -- always a smile. If you have the means as we close this year out, here is the link to donate to the cause: https://www.nationalmssociety.org/?donate=2672&utm_campaign=drefy26_eoy_a&utm_source=imt&utm_medium=wa_hero&referrer=imt-3179999-drefy26-eoy-a-wa-hero They have to cure this devastating disease. 34. If Daley can't go, schematically, Haines and Cig will have his replacement in the best position. We must also remember, we have over a 1/2 dozen All Big Ten players on defense besides Daley. The amazing and factual situation is, the majority of our defense is elected to an All Big Ten Team, meaning there's a high chance that if an injury occurs to anyone on our defense, it's going to be to a star player. This is a product to how awesome our defense is. The reality of the situation is, our defense still boasts the likes of Fisher, Ponds, Kamara, Boykin, Moore, Bones Jones, Hardy, Wheeler, Ratcliff, Ferrell, Sharpe, Landino, Big Tyrique Tucker, etc...I'm still taking our defense over anybody.
