  1. After the epic collapse Saturday on X many of their fans were posting about Cig, how he has a killer instinct, and would have won that game by 20 LOL Some said they wished he was their coach. Cig is a unicorn, and however it happened that we lucked out to get him, I am enjoying this ride for as long as possible. Other fanbases either love or hate him but he always seems to be in the conversation, and I relish the fact the IUFB is no longer the doormat of college football.

    2026 IUFB: CHAPTER 3

….I love reading Ohio St’s message boards when I can’t find anything else IU Football to read. Looks, I think for the most part we as IU fans are handling IU Football’s rise pretty well. To be honest a lot of us are STILL shell shocked of how well we are still doing. However, MOST of us are really beginning to realize that this NEW IU train is for real and here to stay. I’m really enjoying the ride, ….that’s for sure! Still, in the eyes of many, we still have not officially arrived and PARKED! I’ve been trolling their site and the majority view the IU game as their true “test” or validation game… I love this post…..(billboard material!)

  4. This is really insightful. IU’s number is ~$35M so they're fairly close here.

  8. It's malpractice if Carlie didn't know the team and day to day workings prior to her father's death and scares the poop out of me if that's the case. She has been walking the sidelines and has had a heavy heavy pulse on the organization for years. Looking back to the GM history of the Indianapolis Colts, Ballard has the 3rd worse overall win percentage (47.3%) behind Jim Irsay (36.2%) and Bill Tobin (43.8%). Grigson had a better record than him. I get that Ballard has been behind the 8 ball when it comes to QBs but man, his drafting and trades have been pretty dismal. And here we are on year 10 going through the same poop. But whatever, for the shoe.

  11. Lot of fans never knew he played the last half of the season on a bum leg and thought we really needed to upgrade there. And not just fans, but some "experts" as well. I'll take this as Exhibit A that he was actually pretty good.

  13. 1. Disagree on the Sauce trade. It was dumb in the moment. Same as the Buckner trade (Ballard) and Richardson trade (Grigson). You can’t get ahead in the NFL trading draft assets. As ownership you’re the biggest sucker in the world if you let your GM on the hot seat massively mortgage the future to try and save his job. 2. Irsays entire legacy depends on handing over complete control to Polian. Outside of that he was a train wreck. I’m a Colts fan too and remember the 90s well. Drafting Luck covered up how bad that latter era was. The Colts have had the most luck in the draft with QBs of any team in the NFL having landed Elway, Manning, and Luck, and under the Irsays they’ve managed 1 SB total. That group has won 3 more…outside of Indy.

  16. No offer from what I understand. But asked to a lot of camps and been on campus multiple times. I don't know too much about him and can't find his 247 or On3 profile. He plays both ways and looking at his DL highlights he's probably a bit too slow for that side of the ball. I can foresee him IOL for sure. I'm assuming Coach Bostad has an eye on him but in a wait and see mode.

  18. Haha. A little extra fuel on the fire... the fire that is already like Chernobyl in 1986. I think this will be the most vitriolic crowd in modern US sports history. I suspect Ole Miss fans angry behavior will peak at throwing things at Lane. The question is if anyone makes a reckless run to land a punch (probably not). Or if they go after the LSU team bus (maybe?). If Ole Miss loses in controversial fashion that won't help things. They're bringing in additional police from Mobile and New Orleans. Reports are a lot of people without a ticket are just going to Oxford anyway (not good!). I imagine there will be some fisticuffs in The Grove between LSU and OM fans. It's gonna be a scene.

  19. Wisconsin’s was a one time thing to try and prop up, Fickel I think. Funny enough efficiency of spending sort of mostly follows quality of coaching. Ferentz and Kirby are good coaches. Fickell and Norvell…not so much.

Kirby does such a good job recruiting elite HS players which are naturally cheaper, developing them, and most importantly retaining them. If I’m an Iowa fan I’m terrified of the post-Ferentz era. His development program is elite. Maybe they find someone who can keep that type of machine going, but I doubt it.

  28. I can honestly say I am at least a bit skeptical. DD has been a 4 out/perimeter coach his whole career. In his first B1G season with an expensive but hastily constructed roster they have a late season collapse that has them finish a game or two from the tournament. And the B1G was probably as tough as it’s been in 20 years. So he’s going to abandon his style that got him here because…why again? Had they won one more game, likely we are not even having this conversation. Last year was a stumble out of the gate, for sure. But was it so catastrophic that you completely change your entire philosophy?

  30. THE FIRST PROPHECY OF THE CRIMSON MEMORIAL The gates of the Crimson Memorial have opened. The banners have been hung. The Old Oaken Bucket sways quietly in the candlelight. And Hep's Rock has claimed its first victim. For generations, scholars will debate one of the greatest mysteries in fantasy football history: Did "First One Out" name their team because they could see the future? Or... Did they accidentally summon their own destiny? Either way, the prophecy has been fulfilled. As the citizens of Bloomington gathered beneath the moonlit towers of Memorial Stadium, one banner was raised above all others: FIRST ONE OUT Not as a prediction. Not as a threat. But as a documented historical fact. The Committee of the Crimson Memorial would like to thank First One Out for their sacrifice and for helping us confirm that the elimination process is functioning exactly as intended. The remaining thirteen contenders now gaze upon the Throne of the Last Hoosier, wondering who might be next. Some will blame injuries. Some will blame bad luck. Some will blame Thursday Night Football. And at least one owner will blame the waiver wire. THE CRIMSON AUCTION HAS BEGUN As the sun sets over Bloomington, another tradition begins. The waiver wire is now open. Claims have been submitted. Bids have been entered. And somewhere in Indiana, an owner is currently convincing themselves that spending $623 on this year's version of a one-week wonder is a sound financial investment. Tonight, league managers gather like bidders at a county fair auction, clutching their FAAB budgets and convincing themselves they're making responsible decisions. By sunrise: Someone will land the waiver prize of the week. Someone will lose by a single dollar. Someone will lose because they forgot to enter a bid. Someone will spend $400 more than necessary. And someone will spend most of their budget on a player they'll be trying to drop before Halloween. Remember, Hoosiers: You start with $1,000. You do not get another $1,000. This is not Monopoly money. This is not a stimulus package. There is no congressional approval for additional funding. Yet history tells us that at least one owner will behave as though the federal government is standing by to replenish their FAAB account on Thursday morning. Choose wisely. The Memorial has claimed its first banner. The auction has begun. Thirteen remain. One will reign.

  33. Thanks for reminding me. Their loss to Ok State makes it even more hilarious. People were writing entire dissertations about how IU must have hacked the cloud and stolen Oregon's playbook... Meanwhile Cig was just watching tape and found obvious tells like Moore's feet pre-snap.
