  1. I feel it's INARGUABLE that is not the most ACCOMPLISHED team of all time. the "best ever" ... idk how anyone would prove that... We beat the #2, #4x2, #5, #9, #17, #25 ranked teams... plus.. 2 other teams that won their bowl games-- Old Dom, Penn State, and another team that won their conference- Kennesaw St. Won the B1G, Rose Bowl, Peach Bowl, and Natty... NCOY, Heisman winner, Broyles award winner...

  3. There is a legitimate argument that the best college football team ever was based in Bloomington. Last undefeated national champs in football and basketball. Damn, it's good to be a Hoosier.

  5. DB/CB/WR rooms are impressive. AJ Harris, one of the top 3 CBs in B1G in 24-25, is listed as a 2-deep. Sanks at 2-deep, wow. DE seems to have more depth than last year. I wonder how they'll use Burnham, he was very highly touted originally at ND, never lived up to the hype. Ndukwe will be a starter before the season is over, very apparent in the CFP that he was a high-level B1G starter. Looking forward to seeing the Tulsa transfer Hjelle DT, monster at a lower level. The obvious standout to me is the OL is all SR+ aside from Ajani. In the box offensively we are very old. Sr+ Hoover, Sr+ Beebe (dawg), Sr+ OL. I don't see a world where Indiana is any worse than 11-1. Becker, Marsh, Chandler, Preston, Morris, Bond - good luck to opposing DBs. If Khobe Martin is the 3rd back then we are sitting pretty - guy is a stud. ST looks to be top 5 in the country again. This is where IU separates from the 99. Guys like Clay Connor really make a difference. Indiana does not take a step back next year. "We are the emerging superpower in college football, why would I leave"

I'm not sure why that distinction matters. I'm not discounting May's success by pointing out his roster is very expensive. If he raised the money himself, great. Just saying a roster with an NBA guy, three transfers who were contributors on other teams with top 25 resources, plus a 5 star freshman, plus retaining your other guys etc was very expensive. It reminds me of Cignetti. Year 1 he had lower half Big Ten resources, but still made the playoff with JMU and MAC guys. As a result he gets solid NIL for year 2. Wins a title, and now our football NIL is outstanding and we're hosting some of the top guys in the portal. Devries can get there too. Win and the money will follow.

  9. I am excited for this one. Expecting a Purdue win, but we already beat them once this year and crazy things happen in CBB, especially rivalries. Beating them on their floor would be sweet for so many reasons. Purdue will be coming off 3 days rest since Michigan. We are coming off 5 days rest. Hope we make the extra prep time count. We match up a lot better here than against Illinois.

  10. 2OT has been must see TV. Alabama had 4 guys fouled out and a goal tend that was called for review….was announced that the call would remain….1 minute goes by….ref comes back and gets a call from headquarters and says the call is actually not a goal tend and takes the 2 points from Alabama….. As I’m typing this Bama hangs on and wins

Who else is watching A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms? Wasn’t going to because I kind of hate House of the Dragon other than the actual dragons. But I busted out the 1st 4 episodes Saturday morning and it’s phenomenal. Great lead characters. The supporting characters fit incredibly well. Egg may be my favorite child character ever. Love that kid. And the short tightly packed episodes work so well. And the parts of the trial of seven shot from the Dunc perspective in episode 5 was pretty inspired and the entire episode was compelling as hell. Big, big thumbs up.

  17. The CFP selection was a beauty pageant until it expanded to 12 teams. Everything before that was mythical. Between us and 2024 Ohio State (who went 14-2…), we are the most legit national champion ever!

  18. I know the arc of champions has always been top 25 for offense and defense, but if you're looking only at defense, it really needs to be more like top 10-15. The lowest defensive ranking for a national champion was Baylor in 2021, coming in at #22. That was also during Covid, with a shortened season and weird environments, so a slight asterisk there. The worst defensive rating for a champion was Villanova in 2018, at 94.0, which ranked 11th that year. National champions usually have a defensive rating in the high 80's/low 90's, which usually ranks in the top 10-15 for that season.

  28. Who knows. The Bears' statement, as quoted in the article: "We are committed to finishing the remaining site-specific necessary due diligence to support our vision to build a world-class stadium near the Wolf Lake area in Hammond, Indiana. "We appreciate the leadership shown by Governor Braun, Speaker Huston, Senator Mishler and members of the Indiana General Assembly in establishing this critical framework and path forward to deliver a premier venue for all of Chicagoland and a destination for Bears fans and visitors from across the globe. We value our partnership and look forward to continuing to build our working relationship together."

  32. Auburn in free-fall which is good. With Vandy likely losing at Mizzou, that’s five teams the last two nights who’ve beaten ranked foes at home to bolster their resumes. Need to hold serve in Assembly Hall rest of season. Beat Izzo!!

  39. I’ll pile on why not. Yea, it's a tough hole to dig out of. No conference wins in two years. They need a better roster, but they have bottom quarter of the conference payroll, and even worse they have to pay a premium to players to go there because as you astutely observed, "what decent player wants to go there???" And the last kick in the shin is the pressure IU puts on them that Brass Cannon noted, which probably forces them into more coach buyouts that use up even more of their money. If there is a 4-H benefactor, they haven't find that person yet. Maybe they can auction off some of their moon rocks. I wonder what the B1G is going to do with them in the 2030's... I wonder... As for this game, we're probably gonna lose, but at least we split this year. The most important thing for IUBB right now is our last four games and especially whatever we do in the portal which will setup up next season. And lastly, the fact of the matter is the CFB Champion is king of college sports. And that is us. We won everything in the biggest sport. No matter what we're at top of the college sports mountain for about nine months.

The Flopper just floppered. I’m giving him some style points though—unlike usual this was a full frontal flop. Sadly, the refs did not allow it.

  43. Jamie Jordan does a good job at providing a 'Reactionary' depth chart. Here's what he's thinking. https://hoosierhuddle.com/community/free-iu-football-board/2026-indiana-football-roster-and-depth-chart/ Here's a direct link. At this point Turner and PJ Nelson are probably battling for the spot. Turner has more experience and that is preferred by the staff. So if I had to guess Turner gets the nod. But I agree with Hovadipo that the majority of the scheme will be two LB looks. I'm more concerned about the green dot. Fisher can't be replaced so I just hope he rubbed off on Jones enough to make the transition easier. Regarding the TE spot, no clue. That's the biggest question mark on the entire roster.
