All venting aside: I would fully expect that there is an actuarial exercise going on right now; a comparison of the amount of revenue that will be lost, both in donations and ticket/concession sales, versus the cost of an early settlement with Tom Allen. That's real world.

With the caveat of obviously not seeing the roster for ‘23 yet, but also a pretty clear expectation of the type of player to come in from the portal…it’s hard to put into words how dreadful this team is going to be next year. This will be the least amount of talent we’ve seen here since the early Wilson days. We’re losing a ridiculous amount of production from both sides of the ball. I don’t care how bad the production was already, it’s going to get replaced almost certainly by worse players. If he wouldn’t have just hired a OL coach, I’d be convinced he was ditching town and I still hope he does. He’s made a complete mess of this place.

I still think this is a very good team, but a passive Trayce, half asleep Race and zero production from Galloway, Tamar and Geronimo is a recipe for disaster. Trayce is human, and he's going to have games where he's off, but our depth must be a factor in those games. Kopp was the only one who brought anything last game, and we still had a chance to cut it to 6 (missed TJD foul) late in the game and make a run. I hope I am wrong....but I don't foresee a ton of games where everyone but Kopp disappears and we don't have JHS.

If we're stuck with Allen and his team of walkons next year, I can find a definite silver lining. You know that feeling you get when you waste your beautiful Saturday watching IU football only to be pissed off that you did? You're all IU football fans, of course you do. Now we can just skip the game and go play outside instead! It's a refreshing feeling.

Wondering if Brohm might pull a Roy Williams. When Guthridge retired, UNC went after him lock, stock and barrel. But at that time, he said staying at Kansas was the "right thing." Later, after the Matt Doherty fiasco, ol' Roy felt a calling to come home. After turning down UL a few years back, perhaps Brohm will feel such a calling this time. If so, I'd be worried. PU has a history of poaching our coaches (re: Versyp); I'd really hate to lose CTA to the Toiletmakers. Really -- ahem -- I would. Would be a real shame to see the LEO truck pack up and head north ...

NIL might be an even bigger problem. No way we are competing in that arena with the big boys. If we somehow how get a really good player, someone higher up the food chain will poach him. We are football's "catch 22". No one wants to invest in a terrible program and without investment we will stay a terrible program.

It's easy to look back with hindsight but the beginning of the end for CTA was keeping Hiller on staff at the end of last year's season. Had CTA let him go this team and 2021 staff is more than likely still intact. This is going to be interesting to watch unfold. The transfer portal is a game changer.

That's a horrible thing to have happen to him in his final year and trying to end his collegiate career on an upbeat note. Really like Rob and feel badly for him.

The advantage IU and other B1G teams will have is that the conference will be so good that teams are going to have more losses but will still able to get high seeds. The margin of error will be bigger for the conference than it would be for other conferences. For example the Zags probably already have taken themselves out of a 1 and maybe 2 seed discussion with their losses already. They won’t have many more opportunities to get quality wins whereas last year for example the Big 12 was stacked. Texas Tech got a 3 seed despite having 9 losses heading into the tourney. 6 of those losses were road conference games.

On the heels of his 38 pt. game Friday night, he poured in 30 more yesterday against Montour in a 70-50 win. I scored him with 30p; 6r; 4a; 6s; 0b; 2t. 10-18 FG; 4-8 on 3s; 6-7 FT. You can watch this game at the link below. He's #5 in the white uniform. Having watched him play, I'm giving him 2 thumbs up and really hope to see him in candystripes. Plays under control, handles the ball well with either hand, great court awareness, strong defender, can create his own shot. His Lincoln Park team played a swarming man-to-man defense the entire game always looking to doubleteam and trap the ball handler. Thomas was out on top and helped force an untold number of Montour turnovers. When Montour was able to settle into its offense, I don't recall that Thomas was ever beaten off the dribble by his man. A really fun game to watch.

There is nothing positive with the program right now and I can’t believe anyone thinks Allen can turn it around. If you follow the program you could see this coming. A competent AD would not have allowed Walt Bell to be hired but there is zero accountability. Its crickets out of the administration. They could have moved and given a new coach the chance to talk to the players before transferring. Either the AD doesn’t care or is incredibly incompetent. My guess is they pretended to care for a bit. It’s easy to just say it’s IU football but we aren’t even on Rutgers’ level anymore. If you believe other sites Allen himself was trying to jump ship. No one else will be dumb enough to take him for us

I’ve said it before but this Allen contract is gonna be probably the worst thing any of us have seen in regards to IU football. You are looking at a total rebuild of it takes 2 years to fire him and Dolson should probably be let go as well.
