I've been largely absent to this thread...but that has to be one of the more ignorant takes I've seen here. Maybe his two friends who he plays bball with who are going to Vandy for FB mean something to him? Maybe he realizes he'll be on NBA road trips the rest of his life? Maybe his current family and social life is important to him and he realizes it'll be strained sooner rather than later? Come on, man.

No one has changed anything I was told and believe me I have asked. The staff still feels very confident that we will get DG. I believe that Evan Daniels is correct I don't think Darius has made a decision yet. I think they will sit down and decide as a family. When it's time I put a lot of stock in what Winston Garland says and thinks. I think he wants DG in Bloomington. He might want to stay close to home but Nashville to Bloomington is only like 4 hours. I won't be surprised if he picks Vandy but I still think IU gets him in the end. Also as I said a few days ago people need to relax. Darius might change his mind 3 or 4 more times before signing day.

What people on here aren't getting is if you're good enough for the NBA no matter what you will find a way there. Vandy is still a power 5 just like Washington and LSU where the 2 last #1 picks came from. Vandy will not hurt him in terms of getting to the league. He is a top 10 recruit and Shittu may actually go there too and that will be enough to get plenty of scouts in the seats if it wasn't already. It's close to home and a very good academic school. These last few threads have made me not even wanna share on here good or bad. Even with my "sources", chris007's sources, Paps sources that is only a handful maybe slightly more opinions. There are probably some that feel the opposite way. Calm down and wait it out. I promise you last week I had plenty of ppl tell me all IU and now some say Vandy a week later. The narrative could change again. Let's wait and see PLEASE!!

Everyone needs to pump the breaks. Archie Miller didn't come this far, to only come this far. I truly believe that Archie is letting Vandy lay all their cards on the table before he comes in to seal the deal. He and the staff will come up with something creative to impress the Garland's when they visit, just like he did at HH. Vandy is selling DG on the idea of "what-could-be" if he stayed home, but DG and his family experienced the power of Hoosier Nation first hand at HH and aren't being sold on an "idea". Nothing Coach Drew can say will have an impact that walking across that floor did for the Garlands (put a tear in Mrs. Garland's eye or let dad live out a childhood dream of his). To me, the most telling thing in this whole recruitment is the words Winston Garland has said about IU that he hasn't said about the other schools pursuing DG. He will play a huge role in this decision. I think DG deep down he knows where he wants to go but hasn't worked up the courage to tell Vandy, the home school, no. It is a lot of pressure for a 18 year old kid, but in the end, I think IU checks off too many boxes Vandy can't, and Darius will be a Hoosier.

Just a few days ago, there were posts here saying Garland could announce his decision to go to IU by Nov. 1. And once Nov. 1 rolls round, many are expecting him to announce soon that he will go to Vandy. For one, the only ones who really know what's gonna happen (and they might not even yet) are the Garlands. For two, who knows what will be the scuttlebutt in 4-5 more days? It might be as dramatic a change as has been in the past 24-48 hours.

Not sure how anyone could say Vandy can't compete with IU. At a basketball level, sure, but it's the #14 ranked university in the nation academically. It's also his hometown. If we don't get him, it's not a huge deal. Archie has done a fantastic job in the time he has been here and if this off season is a taste of what's to come, I'm all in.

This is so ignorant. Darius Garland is going to do what is best for Darius Garland. It doesn’t make him “weepy” if he enjoys being around family. Don’t be that fan.

Pretty much according to him every team is still in play and he hasn’t decided. He will meet with family and make a decision. Daniels still thinks this is a 2 horse race and to close to call. Family wants to hear EVERY school's last pitch before deciding. Whether in person or by phone. "Last week if you asked him, it was IU. This week depending on the day it is a flip flop." Nothing crazy but wanted to share.

This one is not over though. Garland could become a Hoosier still don't get why people think it is over.

Well there's no denying this. Vandy was 45th in the country in attendance last year with an average of around 9,600. That's barely enough to fill up New Castle Fieldhouse. The SEC Championship game drew 20,000 last year, which is 2,000 less than the lowest recorded attendance for the Indiana State High School Championships.

If he goes to Vandy it probably won't be for basketball reasons, it'll be because he wants to be close to his family. In that case there's nothing we can really do.

The only new thing that worries me is Evan Daniels was there tonight and these guys are switching tonight. Archie should get one last shot and I have faith in him to do his best. I will not be certain of the plans of Garland and Langford until I learn that Mrs. Donovan has bought a house in Bloomington.

You criticizing someone for repeating themselves seems a tad bit ironic. How many posts over the last week have you said the exact same thing about “we will see” or “ I’ll believe it when I see it”

If this package deal does play out, that's got to (at least I hope) be good news for IU. There is no way Vandy made the impact on Langford that IU made on Garland. There's just literally zero reason for Langford to go to Vandy, but there are numerous reasons for Garland to go to IU. That all made sense in my head.
