WayneFleekHoosier Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I hope, but we are expecting McSwain, a relatively unheralded Juco, to play like a borderline 1st round draft pick. Idk. Won't be better than good Troy but likely far better than bad Troy. Hoping for another OG type athlete. Fingers are crossed. Love his athleticism. Built like he could be a better defender. Popular Post Alford Bailey Posted April 5, 2016 Popular Post Posted April 5, 2016 Just like when Blackmon went down people were saying we couldn't replace 16 ppg. I said all we need is a guy to score 8 ppg. and play defense. Along comes OG and we got better. If McSwain can score 8 ppg. play defense and not commit the stupid 3-4 turnovers a game we will net ahead. thebigweave, MikeRoberts, Hoosiers219 and 12 others 15 Quote

maxwell Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Recruit Q&A: Freddie McSwain Jr. Nice article: Link "What kind of impact do you think you can have at a Division I program next year? As a player you’ve got to have confidence, so I think I can make a big impact wherever I go. The way I can help is with my rebounding, my defense and my athleticism. I’m improving my game more and more. With my scoring and rebounding and playing fast, I feel I can help any team." Class of '66 Old Fart, WayneFleekHoosier, HoosierHoops1 and 2 others 5 Quote

Alford Bailey Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Remember Crean usually doesn't bring transfers in to sit the bench so if McSwain commits I bet there is some substance to his game. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
HoosierTrav Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Interesting that he didn't even make JUCO honorable mention. I remember when we first heard of him, some articles had mentioned that he really came on towards the end of the year and in the postseason tournament. Maybe just a late bloomer? I know another great athlete that did not start playing basketball until about his junior year----Michael Jordan. Now---I am not saying there is any comparison but that sure worked out pretty well for him. Here's to hoping if we get McSwain he's a diamond in the rough! Quote
