(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Recommended Posts

FWIW: the Vandy message board is reporting that their student section was about 50% full on Saturday, that the crowd was silent for most of the game, and that the Langford family, including Romeo, showed no emotion and didn’t stand during the entire game, even when the game got exciting and Garland was cheering.
In other words; the exact same signals that drive some IU fans to rash conclusions.
I tell ya’; the posters that I am most in line with are the ones who say that the Langfords are playing this out exactly like they said and good luck figuring out what they’re really thinking.

The Langfords aren’t going to tip their hand by standing up and cheering. It doesn’t mean he isn’t going to Vandy.

And visiting with his parents doesn't mean he is going to Vandy.  We don't know and nothing has really changed from what they said they were going to do.

Drewfus is going to have a hard time

Crimson Quarry's full of dorks.

If Romeo wants to play with "great" players, a senior Juwan Morgan will be better than anyone Vandy has.

Scary to think how much better Juwan will be next year after the way he improved from soph to junior. Makes me tingle inside.

The Langfords have kept this as close to planned as a top 5 recruit possibly could. They have given no hints on where he is going and from everything I've heard all 3 are still in this very much even after the weekend. Romeo enjoyed his Vandy visit, but it didn't blow him away by any means. I expect IU will get some momentum in the coming weeks and will get everyone's hopes up, because that is how this recruitment has went with no real info out there. It seems like whoever he is talking about or whose visiting him or who he's visiting gets the "he's definitely going there" talk, but this one is gonna end up lasting till the end. Once his season is over, that will be when some real info gets out there if any does. Let's hope we close the year out on a high note and Romeo makes another trip whether just to see the campus or a game. I'm still very confident that we are in this one still.
Hard to imagine him being blown away at vandy. I could barely here the crowd on tv. Hoosier guy may be right.

He's putting up monster stats this year, particularly during conference play. 18.2 points and 7.5 rebounds a game, 59.5% from the field, and a 30.4 PER. Imagine him next year with a better team that allows him to get a little more rest during games.

I don't think anything that happens in terms of wins or losses from here on out is going to make much difference in determining where he goes. I also don't think being an Indiana, state or university, legend is a consideration either. He has his sights set much higher. They, meaning the entire family, have a good handle on each of the schools they are considering and any additional visits will just be to tie up loose ends. I expect they are in the weighing plusses and minuses phase now. I'm fairly certain that there is way less emotion being displayed in those conversations than is being exhibited here. He'll make a decision soon and, whatever that is, I wish the young man all the best.

I don't disagree with your post. You're exactly right in that this is going to be a measured and calculated decision, not an emotional one. Where I think you might be slightly off is the Indiana legend stuff. The Langford's have said this will be a business decision and if you're putting pluses and minuses for each school up on the board, the IU/Indiana legend thing is a very strong plus/business decision in favor of going to IU, even taking the emotion out of it.

Great post and I think you're exactly right. On a connected note? I hope there is less emotion being shown than here lol! I think some here are contemplating suicide!

Snow just posted a recap of his interview with Tim and I thought this quote stood out to me:

"I told the Indiana coaches that after the season or just before Romeo commits that we will make it up there to let them have their last chance to sell Romeo on how he fits into their program," explained Langford.

As they say, it ain't over til it's over.

Tim Langford said in an interview with Brian Snow, "I told the coaches that after the season or just before Romeo commits that we will make it up there to let them have their chance to sell Romeo on how he fits into their program".

I will summarize the rest, The family felt as if Drew made good adjustments that helped ultimately was the reason they won, the visit was good, they enjoyed the atmosphere, better than it appears on TV.

Self's visit was good, he showed Romeo how he'd fit with players coming in, basically his last pitch to him. Also pitched being on a national stage to Romeo.

Talked about Romeo's visit to IU during the Northwestern game, he said Romeo saw how CAM gets the most out of his players, and Tim sees that when he watches them on TV.

My impression is that we are behind and Tim is throwing us a bone.

Well to me that says we are out and may get 1 more chance to get him. Longshot if this is fact and i am not reading to much into it

This clearly shows that Tim wants his son at IU

Why do people keep saying stuff like this? Who is contemplating suicide or anything even remotely close?
