That would be a solid athletic lineup but not a ton of experience in Archie’s system. Would be nice to always have 3 guys on the court that are experienced, especially at the beginning of the season to avoid laying eggs against IPFW and ISU

hopefully we won't have those power houses on our schedule next year and we won't have to worry about it.

Posts on the 247 board under the Indysportspartizan handle, and on this board and the Vandy board as Via Swiss. I’m guessing that this claim has been generated by accessing the message board echo chamber, but we should ask him!
Sir Swiss: what is your basis for this claim?

Agree. Late this evening we were in the car and my son in the backseat suddenly blurted out—“OMG -Romeo just committed to Vanderbilt!” I yelled out “You have got to be kidding me” —and I almost ran off the road. Thankfully I looked in the mirror and saw a partial grin on his face-and he said “April Fools”! We laughed then —but for an instant I thought we had lost Romeo. I agree with the posters who said we can act like it is fine if we don’t get him, but it is really going to hurt. My heart was racing and I realized how much I really want him to be a Hoosier. As for my son—I almost stopped the car to make him walk the rest of the way home! Happy Easter Hoosier Nation!

That’s great! Appreciate the story.

Good read on Romeo’s recruitment here:

https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/recruiting/2018/04/02/romeo-langford-kentucky-basketball-john-calipari-unc-recruiting/468987002/

It is clear that while his parents offer guidance, the decision is Romeo’s.

Whoa ... Big Blew Nation ain't gonna like this article!

What a great read.

So this sort of throws the Tim/Sabrina Langford wants Indiana argument out the window:

"My three didn't make it," Tim said. "My wife's three didn't make it. Romeo's three made it. So we made sure it's going to be his decision. And the three schools that he has are three great universities, any way you want to put it."

Sounds like we're in it solely due to Romeo's own interest.

"Romeo Langford entered the timeout huddle, his team down big, and the impression he got was that his coach wasn’t in control.

This was during a tournament last summer, and Langford, one of the nation’s top recruits, was playing for the USA's under-19 squad.

His coach was Kentucky's John Calipari.

Romeo later told his father, Tim Langford, that Calipari "couldn't adapt to what was going on against Canada," Tim said."

Just sayin':

Romeo sat behind the IU bench this year for the Northwestern game, a 66-46 Hoosiers win. So, given the quote above from Romeo, I REALLY like the way the IU/NW game progressed. That game's quick post-game summary on Inside The Hall:

How it happened: Things looked bleak early on for the Hoosiers on Branch McCracken Court. IU’s best player, Juwan Morgan, picked up two quick fouls in the game’s opening minutes. Zach McRoberts did as well. And at the first media timeout, it was a 3-3 tie as several recruits, including five-star guard Romeo Langford, looked on from behind the IU bench. But Indiana, despite no first half production from Morgan, still led by as many as nine before intermission and went into the locker room with a five-point cushion. How? Defense. Indiana held Northwestern to just 19 first half points and .57 points per possession. And when Morgan came onto the floor for the second half, the rout was on. The decisive blow was an 18-0 run that stretched the lead all the way to 27 as Josh Newkirk hit a 3-pointer with 10:07 to play. From there, Indiana cruised to its third straight win and fourth victory in league play.

Seems like Romeo cares about coaching more than anything. Does not bode well for Vandy.

Except Romeo has said that he thinks Bryce is a good coach, and the game he watched Vandy came from behind to defeat Florida.

Would be interesting to see what Mom and Dad's choices would have been. Would imagine that Uof6 would've been one of those, with maybe Duke and UNC.

I don't think he meant it as his 3 choices didn't make it but he's just saying that him and his wife did not pick these schools for their son it's all on him

That's how I read it too. These aren't the schools that mom and dad picked for Romeo. Maybe they wanted the same ones, but Romeo is the one who picked them.
