HoosierAloha Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Great performance today. IU showed great defense in the first half. The helping the helper defense caused TOs and didn't leave shooters as wide open as in past games. IU rebounded and was able to push the pace, UNDER CONTROL. Great stat lines too. Yogi - 16, 5 and 6 RoJo - 11, 6 and 6 Troy - 23 and 6, only 1 TO TB - 18 and 13 JaybobHoosier, Naturalhoosier, hoosierdogg and 2 others 5 Quote
MikeRoberts Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Serious question about score keeping. It didn't matter today as it was a blowout, but what happens if a scorekeeper, refs, players, coaches, announcers don't notice the score is wrong as it was today? Can a score change after a game ends? Can you lose a game that you rightfully won because a scorekeeper mistake? Point is, IU scored 87 and it was marked as 85 and was never corrected or noticed by anyone. Never counted TB's bucket at 2:45 mark Alford Bailey, Hutch89, southsidehoosier and 4 others 7 Quote
hoosierdogg Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Bryant with 18 and 13 - great feeds from RoJo. Yogi and Robert with 12 assists and 4 turnovers - excellent (RoJo with only 1 turnover). Second half the Hoosiers lost some of the defensive intensity, but in part due to how the game was being called. Three IU fouls in the opening seconds of the 2nd half and that blatant no call when Morgan was thrown to the deck after a IU missed shot was ridiculous. No way that one of the three officials didn't see, that. Lyle was out to get his in the second half - did not look for his teammates and Hoosiers did not defend him very effectively. Great start to the game, and a 25 point beat down against O$U on national television, with big time recruits in the Hall,- outstanding. Pollsters have to take a good look at the Hoosiers tomorrow. Next two games (@ Minnesota and Illinois), Hoosiers should be heavily favored. Hopefully the long turnaround between games (next Saturday at Minny) has no adverse affect. jman301 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I think we play much better without JBJ. Better ball movement and much better defense. The Baby Bull, ALASKA HOOSIER, IndyHutch and 2 others 5 Quote
seanmm1971 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 The scoreboard matters not, the official score keeper and the book tell the story. It will be tallied and double checked, and correction to the final if necessary. Quote
AKHoosier Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 The only negative I see out of today is Nick Zeisloft struggling to hit from deep. He's definitely in a funk right now, hopefully the layover between today and Saturday at Minnesota helps him right the ship. Hutch89, IndyHutch, Naturalhoosier and 1 other 4 Quote

Never counted TB's bucket at 2:45 mark Going by watching it back on my DVR and a couple of sites' play-by-play, I'm guessing they called the foul on the floor. The ref under the basket that looked like he made the call didn't motion that the shot counted. TB missed the free throw which was a 1-1, not a bonus for hitting the shot. rebelhoosier848891 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 At least we actually looked like a contender today. Here's to hoping we build on this and start playing this way on both ends of the court every game. Bryant is showing us he has another gear if we just get him the ball! The streak continues! incrediboy Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Simple difference: RoJo and Troy valued the ball and came to play today. Yogi, Bryant, Hartman, OG...they're always steady and ready, but when the two aforementioned guys contribute without major turnovers, we are the team we were today. If Nick was hitting his 3's we might have won by 40. Gotta have something to carp about, I guess. Hutch89 and IndyHutch 2 Quote

bleedhoosier Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 This is what this team is with Williams and Rojo not in a funk. The defense today was fantastic. Im over the moon with how our defense has changed in the last 3-4 games. Super happy. Now lets be aware that IU bball in January seems to look pretty dang good. I want to get back into full on excitement again. This game definitely help please let this focus and energy spill into Feb!! HoosierAloha, hoosierdogg and IndyHutch 3 Quote

ElectricBoogaloo Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 27 points if the score keeper is paying attention. Never credited TB for his bucket at the 2:40 mark Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. coonhounds and MikeRoberts 2 Quote
LIHoosier Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 it was an and-1. If it wasn't, he would have had two free throws on the shot. It was an error Knowing how inconsistent refs are, they could have called it on the bump on the floor before the shot; which would've given TB a 1-1. In my opinion, he deserved the basket as an IU fan and cuz it was the correct call. MikeRoberts 1 Quote
DChoosier Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I'd say it was in spurts really. We had a few nice runs there (both the crappy and the non-crappy). It didn't help that the ref's really slowed down the pace w/some ticky-tack calls. Good win IMO. OSU also turned up their defensive intensity quite a bit in the first 10-14 minutes of the second half. Assume Matta jumped their #^%%*. ALASKA HOOSIER, IndyHutch, Naturalhoosier and 1 other 4 Quote
