Yet Purdue doesn’t fall? It makes as much sense as Houston as the #1, when Kansas has like a bazillion quad 1 wins, lol. Who knows and it really doesn't make a huge difference other than what number is beside your name. All I care about is the Tourney at this point. Let's win some games! ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 I'll always think Indy and Chicago are the best sites for the B1G tourney. Wouldn't have a problem if they had it in Minneapolis or Detroit or maybe even Milwaukee or Cleveland every once in a while -- just seems as if it should be in the Midwest. They had it in D.C. and NYC -- and although I get why they did that, It just seemed an odd fit. I wonder if once UCLA and USC are on board, they'll throw them a bone and at some point, have it in SoCal? lillurk 1 Quote

I could see them going to Vegas. If only because everyone is always looking for an excuse to hold events in Vegas. I can't imagine an LA BTT being well-attended, but I'm not sure if they care either. lillurk 1 Quote

That would be a really rough travel schedule for teams in the B1G footprint to fly across the country and back, then fly who knows where for the teams who are in the NCAAT. lillurk 1 Quote

Yet Purdue doesn’t fall? To be fair I'm not sure who you would have moved ahead of Purdue. Maybe Marquette but they have 1 more loss and Purdue beat them head to head early in the season. At this point rankings are meaningless. A week from now all anyone will be thinking about is conference tournaments and what seed their team will get in the big dance and where their team will be heading to play on March 12th. lillurk 1 Quote

To me it’s just insane that a team with a losing record on Feb. With no road wins and no wins against a ranked team even at home in the last month is top 5. Purdue beat both of those teams but that was way back early in the season. I also kind of hope Purdue gets the last 1 seed instead of the top 2 seed so they aren't in the Louisville region. That would increase the chances of IU getting to play a possible Sweet 16 and Elite 8 game in Louisville. The place would be packed with cream and crimson. Quote

The problem with Purdue is that the media decided they were an elite team back in November/December and even as recently as a month ago was calling them the undisputed best team in the country. They don't look like a top 10 team right now but they still have the resumé of a 1 seed because they went nuts over Thanksgiving weekend and stacked wins against a watered-down Big Ten with favorable matchups. They stayed #5 this week because teams 6-9 all lost at least once. Right now, I think UCLA has a case for the last 1 seed, but Purdue will get it unless they lose a couple more games. hoosierbgh and Alford Bailey 2 Quote

He took UVA to the Final Four in 1981, when a certain team from Bloomington won the title. He also beat a certain team from Bloomington to reach the 1984 Final Four (but we won't talk about that...) Alzheimer's sucks. I remember him hiring Louisville Ballard's high school coach as an assistant to get Jeff Lamp, Ky's Mister Basketball when he was pretty much set to come here.Never did care for him after that.
