Purdue is really something. They aren’t good on paper. The Edey factor is literally and figuratively huge. I feel confident we beat them at home this week though but their success is nothing less than unbelievable.

I think a 1-1 split with them will be good. A lot will depend on how they call or don’t call fouls on Edey at the rim as TJD attacks.

If Edey is 7'0'', Purdue is a .500 B1G team. 

Dude has one offensive move, setting his 300 pound frame up down low then turning left shoulder and releasing it. Otherwise he just stands under the hoop collecting rebounds. He'd get eaten alive in the NBA but in CBB of course has no match for 7'4". Passing out of doubles is easy only because of those extra four inches

Would love to see us get Edey into early foul trouble when we play them this week. Have to say, though, doesn't seem like he's been racking up too many fouls this year. Hope we don't see our front court pick up a few quick ones.

Honestly don't care for the Purdue uniforms. Don't get me wrong, they're not bad... just don't wow me. Maybe I can't get past their bland colors/boring brand and logo/stupid faces

There's a reason TJD is safely being mock drafted in the second round and Edey is nowhere to be found. Dude has one offensive move and then otherwise just uses height and 300lbs. Like Luka Garza was 7 foot but was really well-rounded and barely sniffs NBA minutes. 

Edey will dominate CBB, win two NPOY's and then head to Lithuania for pro ball. It's dumb

18 point lead with 2 minutes left and Edey is still in the game getting fouled. I'd probably try to steal as much time without him on the court as possible, but if Painter wants him to be running on empty by March, more power to him.

The first few minutes of the Rutger v Iowa game was really rough for the officials. Omoruyi had two defensive possessions where he was closer to 90 degrees than straight vertical doesn't get called for either. On the other end, Iowa was getting called for some questionable stuff.

I look at their roster and wonder if anyone on their team would even start for us, outside of Edey.

His effect is that big.

Said the same thing today with friends. Without that 7’4 giant, PU is marginal at best.

Maybe the others aren't doing more because they don't have to. They have several kids we wanted so they can't be too bad. Defending the giant has to start with stifling pressure on the guards. Allowing them to just throw the ball in to him unimpeded is a losing proposition.

His offense won’t have anything to do with why he won’t play much in the NBA. He has no chance to defend at that level.  If they run into a small, fast team that can shoot threes (like the peacocks last year!) they’ll be in trouble.  
 

Unfortunately for us, we don’t have bigs that can drag him out of the paint. I wonder how they’ll handle TJD, though. The more I think about it, I think JHS may be key as we’ll probably run that high pnr a ton and PU will collapse on TJD.

I see Trayce often drawing Edey out and trying to beat him off the dribble. I like the potential there, he's expanded that (as well as being comfortable leading the break) part this season

If you ask a Purdue fan, Edeys size has nothing to do with anything. His numbers are dominant because he's that good... Which of course, his numbers are close to TJDs, but TJD isn't good.... Wonder what the difference between the two is..
