Curtis Jones looks MUCH bigger now...just scored his first basket on a breakaway dunk.

Dude was a talent. From what I had heard he couldn’t handle coaching

They put him in for the last defensive possession before half, just to save the starter (Weathers?) a possible foul.  Curtis left his man wide open for an easy 3 with 5 seconds left.  Then he was supposed to receive the inbound pass, got it taken away.  Not a good 18 seconds...

Come on man, that’s not right. Jones was playing the top of the zone. The man playing the back line lost spatial awareness and allowed a diagonal pass from the right wing to the left corner for an open 3. Absolutely not on Jones, who was shading Roby, I believe, at the top of the key. and reacted down to the shooter after the catch. And the inbounds steal was 100% on the passer, who brain locked and threw it directly to Roby. It would have hit him in the shoulder if he hadn’t caught it. Neither of those was on Jones, who I think has played decently and been pretty engaged and aware so far,

KenPom ratings are still weighted in Preseason info until Mid-January... that is why Purdue is still up there as high as they are.

Keep losing and they will fall!!!! :)

Man they are terrible. They could very well miss the tournament, even with one of the best players in program history. I said it on here earlier...the future looks awful in West Lafayette. I'm not kidding, they could be a bottom 3 team next year in the Big Ten. I'm fine with Purdue keeping Painter. Archie Miller ruined him.

Ruined him, but Archie has never beat him head to Head!! Purdue is always a problem on the schedule because of the rivalry. Painter is a smart coach who understands the game, Purdue is Just Purdue and will never attract top recruits, however Archie should get his fair amount of wins in the future because he is recruiting Indiana kids and they understand how important it is to win that Purdue game. Bottom line Purdue is still a big concern on the schedule.

I get it, but Rob Phinisee, Damezi Anderson, and Armaan Franklin were the typical kids who went to Purdue. Archie is now getting those kids. Phinisee would be Purdue's second best player and Damezi would see more minutes.

Wow another week has gone by and Michigan not in the top 2! How is this even possible? Minus a near hiccup at home with students gone vs W Mich. They have kicked @$$ and took names this year. How are they not #1. #2 at worst?

I am with you. How is Gonzaga ahead of UNC and Marquette ahead of IU? Also Purdue is receiving votes?!?!?!?!

How in the world are maryland and iowa ranked above us in the coaches poll? Neither one has done anything but iowa is laughable.

The coaches poll is an absolute joke, pretty good example of why it shouldn't be a thing. Maryland's best win is...... Penn State? I guess they played Virginia close? I guess Hofstra and Delaware aren't complete garbage. What exactly have they done

Iowa has at least beaten some decent teams. Though Oregon was vastly overrated to start the year

Not that it's a profound insight, but I've said before- there are a lot of good coaches. There are a lot of good recruiters, but there aren't many that are both. Those guys are the house-hold names. Painter is clearly a capable X's & O's guy, but so inconsistent with the talent. It seems he's on about a 4 yr cycle. Gets a good crop, develops them for a couple years- peaks (B1G championship, Sweet 16 caliber team) They leave and the cupboard  is bare. Start over.

He may break through sometime, but as you said above, it isn't gonna be anytime soon. Once Edwards leaves it looks pretty grim. They'll have a lot of try-hards and some solid contributors (I think Newman might be good), but nothing approaching top level talent.

I think Brandon Newman will be very good, but not right away. Usually he has some talent but they look aren't going to be very good next season.

I also don't buy Ohio State just yet..The lost to an unranked Syracuse team (who, like Oregon, is overrated.) To me, the top of the Big Ten is Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and IU.
