Tyon Grant-Foster loses his NCAA appeal for eligibility to play for Gonzaga this year. I’m sure he’ll sue and based on the Pavia stuff I’m sure he’ll win, but this is absurd. He graduated from high school in 2018. He’d be playing tournament games next year at 26. For all the problems with college sports at the moment nothing pi$$es me off worse than this. There are no circumstances, none, in which a 26yo man should  be playing 18 year olds. Ridiculous. And should that happen in football it could absolutely be dangerous.

Yeah. and now a judge, who went to Gonzaga Law School no less, has now ruled Grant-Foster eligible and he’s playing in Gonzaga’s exhibition game tonight. Between this and the TJ Clark situation I really don’t even know what to say anymore.

I’m waiting for Lebron James to announce his college decision because MJ has an NCAA championship and he’s gotta chase that now.

The court argument will be that James was more of a professional actor than basketball player so he will be allowed to play.

im only half joking with this

Apparently they do not because they were actually drafted by the NBA.

That honestly seems to be the NCAA’s goal—an officially sanctioned stepping stone to the NBA.

I’m ready for the NCAA to be officially pushed aside and the B1G/SEC create something new in its place.

Actually, what I’m waiting for, and it’s gonna happen at some point, is a  25/26yo defensive lineman who looks like Deforest Buckner busting some 18yo running back 3 months out of high school in half and ending the kid’s career and the Jay Bilas’ of the world who’ve been trumpeting the injustice of a man who graduated from HS in 2018 not being able to play in the the 2026 NCAAT will not say a freaking word.

Bilas is so annoying on this topic.

Borzello-

Wisconsin has dismissed forward Elijah Gray "related to events preceding his enrollment," per the school. Gray transferred to the Badgers last spring after spending the 2024-25 season at Temple. Began his career at Fordham.

The twitter speculation/rumor is that it's gambling related.

UW says they won't comment further based on privacy laws. Temple says they won't comment because he is no longer there.

He was a backup at Temple so I imagine he was just a "we have an unused scholarship so let's use it for another body" player. I read he hadn't played in their exhibition games and was practicing as part of the scout team. Won't hurt UW at all.

IU Indy is finally doing some advertising besides the usual bus decals.  They got window signs, offering businesses free tickets for select games to hand out, and even managed to get three home games on WNDY 23 for the first time since the 2014-15 season.

It's something to finally get recognized in the city again.

Looks like they were throwing up some bricks in the second half. The question would be is Georgetown better than previously thought, or is PUke and pUKe not nearly as good?  It is probably somewhere in between.

Both.  However UK was missing some pieces.  2-3 starters.  They have "depth" but sometimes that works against you unless you get to a reasonable rotation.
