I would say if you ask TW yes we are the favorite. If you ask IU he is one of 4 big guys we are recruiting. Not sure what order you would put them but TJD, Brooks, Hurt and TW

If I'm reading this correctly, are you suggesting that WE are actually in the driver's seat here?  I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel about this ... it's so new!

Or after a long pause of IU not paying attention to TW, the family understood IU wasn't going to play games. I'll just leave it at that

Frankly, I hope that is the case.  I know it's part of the recruiting business, but I think a staff can really waste a lot of valuable time jacking around with players that can't or won't be honest or decisive. (I'm not directing this at any current recruit).

One of my favorite characteristics of Archie Miller is that he means business and seems to put his cards on the table.  I suspect he knows how to interpret a kid's interest level.

I hope we take the best talent that fits. That said, if it's close, take the in-state kids. It would be cool though to see another Watford with a chance to be part of a potential top-ranked IU team.

I want the best players that we can get. I don't care what state they are from. Watford is better than both Brooks and TJD, so if we can only get 1 of the 3 I want Watford.

Exact same thoughts. TW is a top 10 player and much better than Brooks right now. You take the player who is better

Plus he might as well be an honorary Indiana kid with all the time he spent on campus growing up. He knows what IU basketball is all about.

You win championship with 5 stars that stay multiple years. Brooks is much more likely to stick around.

I actually disagree with this. Watford’s athleticism will hold him back from the NBA imo.

The NBA salivates over guys like Brooks who have elite athleticism and potential. Look at OG. In the grand scheme of things, he didn’t do much while at IU. The NBA loved his potential and took him in the first round, even after a torn ACL.

I see the same happening with Brooks. Brooks will come into his own in the NBA, not in college. Watford will be a known quantity in college with elite skills already. I’ll take Watford

Me spitballing off hints and tweets and facts.

Brooks and TJD may want to play together. As evidenced by several things. IF this is the case and IU wants TJD, it could affect how we approach TW vs Brooks.

I don’t know any of this for sure but I wonder how much this plays into things.

I wouldn’t be concerned about players wanting to play at the same school. Happens every year where we see “package deals” that never come to fruition
