I like that Cig is so low key most of the time. Vs someone who screams all practice like a Kirby. Gives me hope he keeps coaching a long time since it doesn’t appear too exhausting for him. I like the transfer players giving perspective. They seem to really like the intentional shorter practices. I listened to the media interviews of the players yesterday and either carter or jones mentioned that one thing that is sometimes hard for incoming players is understanding that you have to go full out 100% of practice because it's short. Tyrique talked about the heat and pushing through in those tough short practices. Great article. Cig has a well-oiled machine running at IU. cthomas, Pagoda, Hollywood Mike Miranda and 2 others 5 Quote
Stuhoo Posted Thursday at 04:50 PM Posted Thursday at 04:50 PM A solid interview by our own Rhett Lewis. Cig has standard coach-speak reactions throughout, with a few notable specific takes: Once again, Blake Smythe is the one freshman that is called out as overachieving, by name. Cig REALLY likes our RBs. Cig says both lines will be clear team strengths. No surprise, but that = seriously winning football. Says Josh Hoover is ready and that his best skill may be his accuracy. It's Barker and Schott at tight end ... for now. Says Gibbs showed a lot but has a hamstring issue. All in all, it's a remarkably blunt and optimistic assessment of how Cig feels about his team. jermhoosierfan, skhoosier2 and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote

Great news. I really thought the oline gelling towards the end of the year was the key to success. They struggled a little in Cigs first year at times and started a little slow last year. Him building a dominate oline and just running the ball down teams’ throats should be scary for the rest of college football! skhoosier2 and Jeff Flabjohns 2 Quote
Hovadipo Posted Thursday at 06:30 PM Posted Thursday at 06:30 PM Cig was on McAfee today. Mentioned the 3 RBs on there too, but also mentioned the two elite WRs, Tyler Morris, "and some young guys". Not the rosiest outlook for Shazz based on that. Stuhoo, skhoosier2 and Pagoda 2 1 Quote

Heard it and kind of drew the same conclusion. Maybe Shazz will figure it out. Those other guys have been in the program a year and understand what is expected. Not defending Shazz. This is an earned not given program. But it has been mentioned before by Cig that Shazz needs to be more consistent, so I took him not mentioning him the same as you. Hovadipo 1 Quote

Yeah something he said made me think it was work ethic. Disappointing but if questions at our 4th WR is the offenses biggest question that’s a good spot to be skhoosier2 1 Quote

Could be why he didn’t stay was no field time due to work ethic issues. I think the 4-5 WR spots will be ok with Chandler and Bond if Shazz can’t get it together. Need another Charlie Becker to emerge this season. Quote
