Stuhoo Posted July 30 Posted July 30 More football takeaways from Cig today: Grant Wilson is quarterback 2, not Tyler Chery. The freshman Gibbs was mentioned by Cig (again) as a candidate for the starting tight end job. Bray, not Drew Evans currently penciled in at center. Pagoda, 68Hoosier, Artie86 and 3 others 5 1 Quote

AZ Hoosier Posted July 30 Posted July 30 SIAP... THIS is why Cignetti is winning... enough of the SEC bullshite... Quote "I mean we don’t run a hype machine up here in the Midwest," Cignetti said on Thursday at Big Ten media days. "We believe everything’s earned, not given. And when we fall short, we say, ‘We fell short.’ We don’t cry a river, whine and complain. All right? And that’s why we’re the best." Artie86 and jermhoosierfan 2 Quote
Stuhoo Posted July 31 Posted July 31 He didn't even play in the spring game while recovering from injury. He is a true freshman. And yet, Cig has mentioned him repeatedly as part of the tight end conversation. It sure seems like we brought Schott in to be the starter, but 6'2", 245lb true freshman Trevor Gibbs from Crown Point is one to watch. He's also a mature personality in interviews. skhoosier2 1 Quote

Schott I think was the safe this gives us somebody who can hold down the fort. But Gibbs might be the more potential guy that Cig was hoping would develop skhoosier2 1 Quote

Barker seems like an afterthought that is big enough to be an effective blocker. Thiry keeps getting the 'not ready' tag from Cig, even after a year+ with the program. Gibbs? Even as a true freshman he's giving off those "we got something here" vibes. skhoosier2 and taco corp 2 Quote

Hovadipo Posted Tuesday at 01:48 AM Posted Tuesday at 01:48 AM Twitter rumblings of a(n) addition(s) to the DL, including from assistant S&C coach Daniel Johnson. My money remains on Wyatt under the assumption that Daley suffered a patellar tendon rupture, though I don’t think I ever saw that confirmed. Even if it’s “just” Wyatt, that room is going to be unbelievable. Added to Tobi, Burnham, Ndukwe, Obiazor? And that’s just guys on the outside. My goodness. Just saw that and came to see if anyone had the scoop on who we added. Scary if true. Take notice because our DE’s will come in waves. Quote

I'm hearing Wyatt, Daley, and Brady will ALL be back this year. This comes from someone close to the team. No word on Staes. BtownStrength, 68Hoosier, mamasa and 9 others 11 1 Quote

Daley would be huge but he'd be coming back from a serious injury if the torn patellar is true. skhoosier2 1 Quote
