We didn't create the rules, we're just playing the game that was laid out. I love this WayneFleekHoosier, thebigweave, DChoosier and 12 others 15 Quote

Love the staff as much as anyone but I’ll never be down with guys like this. I 100% would be in favor of a 5-for-5 eligibility model. No more redshirts, no medical exceptions. Give everyone 5 and be done with it. Call year 5 "Grad year" or something. But while these current **** rules exist, we are going to play within them. Hell, Louis Moore is on year 7 this year, and many fans I have encountered have some "yeah..but" excuses when confronting this fact. Always good to hear a perspective like yours that can acknowledge staff competence but not be hypocritical about it. Hovadipo, Home Jersey, DChoosier and 1 other 3 1 Quote
Hovadipo Posted January 4 Posted January 4 8 minutes ago, Demo said: Yup. You know this stuff miles better than I do but this one feels for all the world like a depth piece and if he’s playing 50 snaps something’s gone sideways. I don’t know much about the guy, just what I’ve read this morning. He seems versatile (converted LB) and he’s pretty stout for a safety at 210, so it makes me think the staff sees him as a utility guy that can play in the box and out in coverage. He doesn’t seem like an every down guy, but either way he definitely doesn’t strike me as the type of guy you take “instead of” Perich or anything like that. rayl456, Home Jersey, LockdownD and 2 others 4 1 Quote
Stuhoo Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Zachman was projected to be an every down guy for a pretty good P4 defense until he got hurt. There’s a ton of film on him for the best staff in football to have decided he fits. Riley Nowakowski undoubtedly was consulted and vouched for him. He is likely a budget friendly option, which can allow for $$ for more high-profile additions elsewhere. In summary? Excellent!! ronzo4IU, Hoosier987, skhoosier2 and 2 others 4 1 Quote

I love this I get the argument, I do, but I’m never gonna be good with a 25-26 yo man busting an 18yo WR running a slant in half. There’s got to be a line somewhere and that’s mine. JSHoosier Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I get why people wouldn't like a guy this old playing college ball, ideally it wouldn't happen, but if the NCAA is going to allow it we may as well benefit from it. I wouldn't take him instead of someone like Perich, but Zachman was productive his last full year. thebigweave 1 Quote

Popular Post Stuhoo Posted January 4 Popular Post Posted January 4 I like this quote from Fickell from when Zachman got injured: “He was the leader of the defense,” Badgers coach Luke Fickell said Nov. 3. “He was making most of the calls and was just that cornerstone. It's been one of those things we've had to be able to overcome and had to spread out some of that (responsibility) the last seven weeks.” Crimson and Cream, BtownStrength, Jeff Flabjohns and 5 others 7 1 Quote
