I’m guessing will have a busy Portal filled schedule this weekend

In the post game presser, I thought Cignetti said he had some portal guys coming in on Sunday. Let's do this, coach. Lock 'em down.

I think CJ Baxter is visiting this weekend.

I haven't seen a list of who is visiting, but there appears to be momentum with Baxter.

Even if CJ commits, I don’t see him  ahead of Martin.

There is. Multiple sources say we lead and the visit is a chance to close.

This kid is also a really smart person and would be a great culture fit.

I feel like it depends on CJ's health. His injury robbed him of a lot of his explosiveness. Still a very good back, and if he fully recovers could be RB1. But going off what I hear from Texas fans who watched him, he was clearly not the same player post-injury.

What about two years post injury?  :)

Certainly helps, and if the staff wants him then I am optimistic. If we land him, I imagine that means someone will be moving on, as 6 would be a lot for a RB room. Beebe, Martin, or (less likely) Cuono will see the writing on the wall.

I read that Pete Nakos for On3 said we're the team to beat for Baxter. If we land him hopefully he can get fully healthy and regain some of his productivity. He had hamstring issues this year before entering the portal.

What’s the consensus on what’s diminished since he was hurt? Has he lost 1st step explosion, which  might be pretty problematic given the nature of this team’s running scheme, or has he lost some lateral quickness, which would probably be a little lesser thing?
