Man - I’m well aware. He can possibly bring Bidunga and others via transfer. He has connections to AAU and coaching circles in the Midwest. If you are basing his ability to get recruits off his time at Cincinnati, I can’t help you.

I can't imagine a receuit choosing Kansas over Cincinnati, can you?

Here is their roster. Drew has been there since 2022 and the only recruit from Indiana has 54 points for the year.  Surely there should be some Cincinnati caliber players he could have landed. https://gobearcats.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster

Isn’t he a legacy hire and his father has recruiting ties that run deep in the Hoosier state?

I know some Illinois fans over here who are having a hard time with the possibility of seeing Frazier as a coach here.

I didn’t see it mentioned but the bad blood develop when Gordon switched commitments to us after verballing to Illinois. In those times college coaches had an unwritten rule of not recruiting committed players. And we know Sampson and rules; he did it out in the open and pulled EJ.

Well, not really..EJ said he wasn't playing for Davis, but wanted to play for IU. Don't think Sampson had to try real hard.

Davis missed on everybody not named Bracey. Odom & Conley, Sean May, Montross, Wes Matthews etc

Flipping a committed recruit back then was a big no-no. It left Illinois with no time to replace him. Of course they were really pissed. Doesn't excuse the treatment that he and the family went through at that game. But I understand the feeling.

The bigger issue Illinois had with it was that Gordon repeatedly said he was still going to Illinois. Then he flipped a few weeks before signing day.

Yup. It was pretty well regarded that there was a high chance Gordon was going to flip. Then we got a young Travis Steele on the staff and that was icing on the cake as he had a prior relationship with the Gordons.
