I actually get nervous when I see something like Oats shot chart that is so dogmatic it seems if they eschew even good (ie wide open) shots from the midrange. Home Jersey and Pagoda 2 Quote

Not so much the Belmont game which had lots of long 2s. Unsurprisingly, it was also the worst shooting percentage of the 3. Home Jersey and Pagoda 2 Quote

newcastle12 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Jeff Goodman has tweeted late this afternoon that McCollum is a top candidate which has lead to a storm of other places reporting that it's gone far enough that the school and him have talked (Peegs crew for one) More smoke. https://x.com/GoodmanHoops/status/1900299555138396447 Quote
Crimson and Cream Posted March 14 Posted March 14 McCollum bringing Stirtz with him and having all the NIL money to go build his own team around him would make for an exciting first year. cybergates and Home Jersey 2 Quote

BA47591 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 If he leaves Drake after one year for money, it will be off script. He's not that kinda guy. Iowa might be the exception. akumanina 1 Quote

Those are skills like any other that can be developed, and his success indicates he's good at teaching them. I also think his offense has the potential to attract high level players as the ball screen motion offense he is running develops skills that are really coveted in the NBA now - good decision making and proficiency at finishing both inside and from behind the arc. BA47591 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Frans gone so if you add Iowa holdovers to eligible Drake players you have a team that can compete. He gets to stay home. It will be cool to see how he does there. Quote

BA47591 Posted March 15 Posted March 15 If somehow Scott Dolson is sitting in a position where it's an impulsive BM for the first time in his life, that thinks IU and its money is too good to pass up, or a guy that may very well be a late bloomer and let's not forget our catch phrase "with our resources." I hope he picks McCollum. I don't know anyone that feels differently. Quote
Hoosier Roots Posted March 15 Posted March 15 If this coaching search is at the point that is rumored and we’re looking at either Brownell or a Ben McCollum that is leaning towards Iowa, Scott needs to at least start kicking the tires on Wade. The dude can flat out coach and would be a top option to win immediately here. The problems with the NCAA are moot, and in my opinion he just happened to be the guy who got hammered for something that every other successful program was doing. His problems aren’t even in the same jurisdiction as someone like Beard. If we’re serious about winning and bringing the program back to prominence, Wade is an obvious candidate. The guy would likely kill it here and is rumored to be very interested in the job. Hoosierfan2017 and KYHoosier 2 Quote
