So did he view them about the same and it was more a matter of timing?  Or do you think he had one ranked ahead of the other?

Definitely had them ranked. Not sure if it was 1a and 1b or 1 and 2

Sounds like Frazier would need to come along with him for him to follow.  He committed to WV because of Frazier.   Frazier can recruit however I personally don’t see him ever wearing anything with an IU logo on it.

That would apply for Sencire Harris and Amani Hansberry as well I would think who followed Frazier from Illinois. I’ve seen some WVU fans clamor for Frazier to get the head coaching job.

Eff the haters man. Keep on keepin' on. This might have already been asked and my apologies if so. I'm curious, have you heard any other info regarding the pecking order between the two coaches? I know you mentioned McCollum was like 1b at one point. I'm wondering if you happen to know if that order was reversed, meaning DeVries was 1b and McCollum was option 2.

No DeVries just said yes first but McCollum was in front of him

I agree. I just found him and started following.

If he joined he’d be run off so fast.

Can’t argue with a lot of what he says and he seems to be tapped in to what’s going on.

the only reason people would run him off is because he is connected to Dolson’s burner and Tyme but who cares. Seems level headed and POSITIVE

That's what is great you have an opinion and we can decide if it stinks or not. We got one of our top guys. So we should be happy for some reason not sure why you're not. Wait I know why

DeVries was a good hire.  Great potential.  I do worry about his personality but if he wins no one will care.

Sorry for the long post. But just want to give my two cents for anyone who cares. And you probably shouldn’t.

Everyone can be disappointed, but Dolson couldn’t just say “hey (insert coach name here) come coach IU” and they just come here. Some people don’t want to leave cushy jobs. Some people don’t want the lights. NIL has changed everything. I’m not thrilled with the hire though. But I think it’s just the fact that NIL plays a big part. Used to be easy to get people to come to a big name school. But with NIL, coaching making boat loads of money, it’s hard to get big coaches to leave their cushy jobs. Like look at UL and UK last year. Pope and Kelsey were not their first options? Just a different world than it was 10 years ago.
But We got a guy from a P5 conference guy that WANTS IU, that’s WANTS the pressure. Like him or not, you can do whatever. I just say we rally behind him and the team and give them a chance.

Every coach started somewhere small and had to make a name for themselves. Let’s hope Darian is the next one to do that.

Kentucky - BYU coach
Louisville - Charleston coach
Duke - Assistant
UNC - assistant
Villanova - assistant
UCLA - Cincinnati coach
Alabama - Buffalo Coach (oats)
Tennessee - Milwaukee Coach (Pearl)
Florida - San Francisco Coach
Texas Texh - North Texas
Iowa St - UNLV coach

Not every school just get a proven P5 guy. Sometimes people do their job and hire the right guy. Let’s hope Dolson just did that.

One major thing to point out with Otz and Iowa state is that he had a long history with Iowa St. before going to UNLV.

That is a good point in all of this.

But with him only being at WV for one year, it makes me nervous that he will be looking for greener pastures from here as well.

An underrated aspect to this? There literally are not very many pastures greener than IU for men's basketball. We have to remember that we're literally at the top of the food chain in terms of relevant support.
