If Zander Diamont can have a 4th quarter lead in Columbus, against the eventual national champions no less, then this team can go in there and win by 14. Go Hoosiers.

True, but OSU probably overlooked IU so weren't focused. I don't think they do this year. IU can win but they'll have to earn it. It won't be because OSU wasn't mentally in the game.

OSU has the edge in talent. IU has the edge in coaching.

A good friend of mine is a huge Ohio State fan.  He just retired from some middle school and high school coaching and assistant coaching.

We always discuss IU and OSU major sports.  He is still a fan of RMK. He really liked our selection of Cignetti.  Says that Cig is a big winner.

He posted to me in our latest: "THE game. You can make your prediction, but keep in mind IU plays in front of 53,000…Ohio stadium will seat 105,000. A lot of your guys will be in awe of the sheer size of the fan base. I’m sure they will perform well but not Saturday. If it does, it does, but I don’t think so. "

That's what they plan on? Fans winning the game?!

If we protect Rourke and play well on both the OL and DL...

IU is going to take OSU down.

We have dawgs on our team and players who will feed off the crowd and use it as fuel. If we lose we’ll lose but not because of being afraid.

I don't believe that. But we aren't at a disadvantage like most years, that's for sure.

The only thing that would genuinely worry me about the environment is Roarke being kind of over-hyped up early and maybe missing a couple of throws high and high throws get picked. Past that, these kids will eat that environment up. What actually worries me is OSU being disciplined enough to just run it about 50 times and controlling the ball for 40 mins and sort of bludgeoning them up front.

IU OL should keep the qb much cleaner than in Michigan game vs Ohio State….thinking that Ohio State defense maybe not be as good or at least not better than Michigan defense.  Bye week for OL offsetting home crowd some.

I think the best thing that could have happened to our coaches and QB were those defensive formations that Michigan used against us in the second half. One could tell we weren’t ready for it. Now with practice and a proper breakdown on how to play against that , we should be ready for anything.

Unless we lose by a lot, the committee will have no valid excuse to drop us much. Penn State lost at home to OSU, also hasn’t played anyone else “good,” and barely dropped.

I expect some shenanigans because we’re not a football brand, but beat OSU Saturday and there’s nothing they can do.

B1G refs?

I can't believe IU is a 12pt underdog. I don't bet, but that is tempting. O$U has tons of talent as always, but in the games I've seen (Oregon, Nebraska, Nwestern) they haven't even looked really good, let alone great. IU might wilt under the spotlight and get rattled by the first bigtime road game environment this year, but I don't think so. I will be utterly shocked IU loses by 12+ pts.

So, we’re not a brand…BUT, we’re one of the biggest stories, if not THE biggest story, of this season.  I believe the tv folks might like that over another SEC school.  I know about the relationship between ESPN and the SEC, but who knows what the committee thinks about the Cignetti/IU story.  Maybe it means nothing…but who knows.

IU + 11.5 is what I saw this morning- will be interesting to watch that line

Do you know what the line was when it first came out? I always love seeing the trends on Saturday mornings while watching Gameday - clear giveaways sometimes

I don't like to bet a lot of $$ but I already got it at IU +10.5 somewhere. I threw down more than I normally would. Depending on which Sportsbook, IU is either 8-2 or 9-1 ATS this year. Ohio State is like 4-6 or 5-5. Only game I know IU for sure did not cover in was Michigan. FIU, again it depends which sportsbook. Regardless, 8-2/9-1 is the best ATS among any Power 4 conference teams.

Indiana covered the spread, where I got it, against FIU. Idk where it ended.

Now we do know that the B1G referees and the conference would not tilt the playing field or rules to favor a brand name like Ohio State, again.  I would not bet your money on this game for that one reason.  Another reason is that the ball bounces and stuff happens.  I would rather spend my money on a really decent bourbon.  And will be thrilled when IU wins this game against the nuts.

I’ve picked IU to win every game this season but not sure who I will pick for this weekend.

In Cig I trust but after the Michigan game a few things give me pause:

Our OL didn’t handle UM’s DL and I can see us having the same issues vs OSU. Acknowledge that we had to sub in a guy on Thursday, so he only worked with the starters for a day, but OSU really has some studs on the DL as did UM.

In the second half of the UM game Rourke looked kind of rattled. If that happens at OSU we will have issues.

Can we run vs OSU? Protect Rourke?

I seem to be in the minority but think the crowd will have an impact. Very important for us to get off to a quick start.
