I don't know that we did go to $20M, but let's go with that number for this exercise.

I think it's good to keep in mind that pretty much everyone upped their budget this year. Everyone now has revenue sharing. Everyone knows the cost for players went up.

It's really possible that even though we're at or near $20M so are a lot of other top-teir programs.

Additionally, just like the pros having spent a million more here or there doesn't constitute success. If we paid $20M and lost to a team that paid $19M is it that ig of an upset? If we beat a team that paid $21M we're we significant underdogs?

Probably hard to think of it that way because many good teams have retention and thus no need to be big spenders in the portal while others like us this year have to spend a lot for a new team that has no continuity to begin summer practice.

Given the huge amount of money spent on the roster, which will be near $20M, we should be thinking Sweet 16.  That's not unreasonable.

Everybody in this program is getting paid a lot, from coaches to players.  Time to earn it and win.

Thinking it is one thing, expecting it is another. I’ll be happy being back in the tourney with some fun basketball along with a good recruiting class and a chance to retain the main contributors from our current roster. That alone is a massive step in the right direction.

But then to your point, expectations should rise in year 3 where we’re a premium seed and a sweet 16 type season is a reasonable expectation.

Edit to stay on topic: I love that every pick up we made are guys with multiple years. Means we can keep the players who pan out heading into next season which makes a massive difference.

I'm beginning to wonder if Dorn might stay on roster.  Just a thought since I doubt we get anyone much better than him at this point.  Another summer of training and who knows, but the kid can shoot and get to the rim when he needs to.  With the attention our bigs are going to get in the paint, that should free up guys like him and if he becomes more consistent..look out.

Which of our current guys do you think Dorn will push out of the rotation?

I suspect the staff has Harris penciled in as our spot up shooter.

100%. And not second week because you finished 8th in the conference and eked into Dayton and then upset a couple of teams. 2nd week because you were solid all year and were a 4/5 kind of seed at least.

Is Cook Hall open to the public anymore?  I remember when Crean was here the public was allowed to come anytime it was open.  If so, maybe someone can stop in and see if anyone is on a visit? lol

Hmmm - that would sure seem to indicate that Adam Olsen's $1.5M offer that I was told about wasn't all that firm.  May be that he's still available but also may be that we have our sights set higher?  Not sure that he fits the backup big man and the addition of Bryce Lindsay, while listed as a guard, could well fill the 3 point need that Adam wqas being considered for. Who knows?

Adam Olsen had an official visit to Auburn that started yesterday.

To get Olsen with who else we have would be pretty tremendous.

Obviously high major schools see something that I'm not. One year of D1 basketball at a mid-major. Is he a Canadian legend?

I'd take the guy from Irvine unless there's a Euro shocker.

He’s a really good volume 3 pt shooter. He doesn’t give you anything else however. Suppose you can hide him in certain lineups where you have a ton of size and athleticism around him. I think at this juncture he would be a very good take given how the rest of the roster has come together.
