Do we plan on poaching players from Duke and every other tournament team still playing? Players are going to the portal, and IU isn't even listed as having interest....

Write down the number of players currently in the portal today and then multiply it by 2 or 3. That’s the number that will be in there in a week. Patience young grasshopper.

I have my hopes up for J'Kobi Gillespie. But you're right. Enright is a back-up 15mpg guy familiar with the system and someone to set the practice habits bar. If we march out a starting lineup with him in it, we hired the wrong coach.

We are running out a 3 man team of DeVries, Sisley, and Enright.  We will be playing 3 on 5 every night.

Especially with the NIL numbers that are being mentioned for IU. I know this takes a bit of time, but what's even taking his son so long to officially commit? I'm mean, seriously?

I wonder is Brian Walsh will end up on the Ohio State staff?

I take it you heard the same thing about him having an offer from Diebler last year too?

We are speculating about players, which is fun, but let the man do his work. We have to identify and pay the right kids. We cannot have what happened last year. Who we think would be good may not be who CDD thinks would fit. We may be disappointed with who we end up with on paper, but very happy with what happens on the court.

Even if that lineup wins a sh!tload of games and Enright is a positive contributing factor for that winning?

I assume he has to technically be granted the extra year and until that happens he can’t commit?

Why do people keep saying Goode? It’s literally a very small percentage that he is granted an extra year unless he sues the NCAA which means we won’t probably know until fall if he wins so they need to recruit like they don’t have him. He played in February and beginning of March. That’s after when NCAA grants the extra year.

It’s very likely the NCAA isn’t going to put up a big fight. In an era where the NCAA has given out 6th and 7th year waivers like candy, giving Goode a 5th year after only playing 3 and 1/3 seasons doesn’t seem totally far-fetched.

To add on to AH's reply, the reason the NCAA probably won't fight it is because there is a good chance they'd lose the lawsuit. Having to defend why 10 games played at the beginning of the season versus 10 games played at the end of the season is a losing proposition since that is an arbitrary distinction as both players miss the same amount of games. The NCAA is probably starting to recognize lawsuits they won't win.

Just shows how dumb some of the NCAA rules are for sure and I hope Goode sets precedent for himself and everyone else because you both make great points

You know something that I gleaned from the "3 guys" podcast. DD had already formulated his off-season plan in terms of portal and knew in advance several players he was going to pursue long before the season had ended. That's interesting. To answer your question, I would be happy of course. But in college basketball the most important position on the court is PG and had he had Connor Enright instead of Javon Small I don't think they would've been as successful. Now he has 3x the money to work with.

I’ll also add when the games are played doesn’t matter in football. So the NCAA’s own rules contradict themselves from sport to sport.

sorry if anyone in here works at the NCAA, but that organization is an absolute joke.
