No revelation, but isn’t that why our athletic director finally got to have his choice  and pay a coach millions of dollars to navigate through that?
We have a major brand after all.

We kinda don’t really have a major brand in basketball. Football? Yes.

Leave out this one line and you are a valuable poster who is sharing thoughts and providing a valuable perspective. But you can’t help yourself. The biggest god complex I’ve seen on the board since Scotty came around telling us how to be good fans.

Scotty now busy doing that on the other board. Or maybe it’s how you aren’t a true fan.

Those tables were turned rather quickly.  DDV could do the same with some unexpected success and high quality evaluations.  Maybe it will happen.

It probably means he already had a verbal agreement in place with a specific school before he officially entered the portal

That is the most likely scenario but it is possible that he and his people just want all communication to be directly with his agent and not with Sherrill.

If and when IU reemerging as a basketball power it will be because CDD or whomever comes after hits on a few underrated kids and coaches up some others ala Todd Golden or Dusty May, it will not be from bought college dream team.

And quite honestly it needs to be that way, if not you just end up with a modern and worse version of the Calapari UK yearly crash outs that are less sustainable in the NIL era.

Quin Buckner and Mike Woodson should both be persona non grata for putting their own selfish agenda ahead of the good of the university that made them both icons and multi millionaires.

Calipari went to 7 elite eights in 15 seasons at UK while we haven’t been there in almost a quarter century. There’s nothing stopping IU from buying a “dream team.” IU just won’t do it, and that’s why we’ll most likely be right back in this position next year wondering why we missed the tournament and why all our players are leaving.
