He’s taking a beating over there right now for not having any info but his mods are deleting any mean posts.

I noticed that too lol. Been weirdly silent over there. Basically no info.

Although he didn't shoot it particulary well in those games, Jasai Miles averaged 12 points and 6 rebounds against P5 competition last season (South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Nebraska, Florida).

I like the rebounding more than anything else. He could help compensate for Bailey.

I could be completely off here, but wasn’t there a quote from Coach saying he prefers to recruit to his offense and can teach them defense. Says it hard to teach someone how to be good offensively than vice versa. Idk, I could have imagined that, but could have sworn I heard that somewhere and is the same with how Hurley does it out of UConn.

Yep…I remember that quote.

One other note from almost everybody statistical profile: they’re not really after any high volume “other 2” guys. Plenty of rim, plenty of 3s, and you’d think they might take a swing at someone who they thought could help but who had taken more middies under a different coach. Pretty much no!

IU is, blissfully, gonna play MUCH different next year.

When looking at low/mid major guys and how well they will transfer athletically, it's always good to look at their rebounding totals.  Guys that are plus rebounders at low/mid levels will translate athletically.  In the case of Miles, 6.8 rebounds/game for a 6'6" kid is very nice.

While he shot 34% from three, he did it on a ton of attempts (7.3 per game).  While his overall shooting percentage was 42.5%, when you throw in the adjustment for threes his effective percentage was 52%.  Inside the arc he shot 55%.  Also has two years of eligibility left.

Have to keep in mind as well that there isn't much difference between college 2's and 3's today.  There is no reason that Wilkerson and Miles -- at 6'5" and 6'6" -- can't be on the floor at the same time.  Always nice to have players capable of playing more than one spot.  I mean, if you just go off of where a team lists a player's position then North Florida's rotation was 6 guards and 2 forwards.  Miles is a small forward than can be a 2 or 3.

I think that is more of a mindset than an athletic ability.  Playing defense doesn't take much skill, just determination and a mindset.  I think that is what DDV is looking for actually!

Shooting is a skill, much harder to teach than defense.
