The minute you leave, the likelihood you will buy from that person drops dramatically.  It doesn't drop to zero but it makes closing the deal more difficult.

IU isn’t hawking vacuum cleaners door to door. As this process matures and agents are increasingly involved you will see more deliberate decision making that includes multiple visits, if for nothing else than out of respect between staffs and agents. This happens all the time in the NBA in free agency.

 You aren’t just selling the kid and momma on education, winning and feel good intangibles.  It’s likely to mature into a more process oriented phenomenon that sees a kid field competing offers.

Sure did. The same way teams root for their bad teams to tank for a top draft pick. A few more wins to keep Woodson for a fifth season would’ve been the worst thing for the program, and I absolutely wanted to avoid that. To avoid that you have to lose some games.  I have concerns about DD but he at least gives IU a chance. 

Didn’t you puff your chest the entire past offseason and then go into witness protection for a few months after Woodson belly flopped in the Bahamas?

First, Nebraska's location is a big problem in the modern era, especially as CFB recruiting became much more national.  They're in the middle of nowhere with limited local talent and it's hard to recruit players (and their families who want to watch them) to a hard to get to location.

Second, they pioneered the strength program and it was a big advantage for some time until it was eventually replicated at other programs.  They used to have a bunch of bulked up country boys and that isn't the advantage it used to be.

IUBB doesn't have a location problem, nor did we have some special weight or training program that was replicated.

Both programs have struggled to hire coaches and both programs have fanbases that are big assets.  Basically all the money for a program comes from fans in one way or another.

Then decided Mike Riley winning 7 games wasn’t enough.

Finally just went .500 for the first time in nearly a decade.

They’re a delusional bunch. But so are we.

Yes really.  Their issue isn’t their fans, but their location, lost competitive advantage with their strength program, and bad coach hires.

Those pointing out none of his WV players followed him other than his son as a red flag, 1) how do we know he wanted any of them at IU?  2) I think assistant coach/player relationships are being heavily discounted. 3) It’s April 13th. 

Not only that, but as I mentioned earlier, after the coach and most players were at WV for only one year, there is not going to be any mutual loyalty from player to coach or coach to player.

That's debatable depending on your thoughts of the state as a whole. Sure, Bloomington is ok but it's a **** hole otherwise
