It's still 6 days until April 1st. No way this guy is accurate. In the comments he does say maybe over 2 years. That account has a whopping 295 followers.

If they are going from Bruce Thornton to Gabe Cupps? That is no bueno. And I think that Cupps can be a decent college player.

Same guy followed that tweet up by saying he first heard it was $350,000 and then heard it was much more.  Have to say he has no clue what Cupps will be receiving.

When so we think we'll have names of players in this thread? There was a random tweet out their from an account belonging to "coach" that said their were several big names in our future. Just paraphrasing....

It's day 3 of a 30 day window and Connor Enright is scheduled for a visit.

The 30 days is just for the kids to put their name in the portal,  they can sign with a team anytime

NIL money is crazy to me. A guy like Cupps, imo, is worth a scholarship and maybe some meal vouchers in the Big 10. Hundreds of thousands for a player of his caliber is wild. But I guess that’s where we’re headed with the amount of money going into NIL.

Is the prevailing assumption that McKneely is in play? I saw the outreach on Adragna's tracker. I don't know how the defense shakes out, but McKneely/Devries/Goode on the wings would drive teams nuts.

No.   Acc teams are mentioned with him.

They are going to have to institute caps, and they need to be reasonable. A college degree is still a valuble asset and should still be an important part of the process!

Why do people keep saying Goode? It’s literally a very small percentage that he is granted an extra year unless he sues the NCAA which means we won’t probably know until fall if he wins so they need to recruit like they don’t have him. He played in February and beginning of March. That’s after when NCAA grants the extra year.

I just checked the 247Sports portal rankings: Reneau is 12th, Mgbako is 31st, Gabe Cupps has slid down to 84th but is still ranked as top 100. I certainly don't agree with the rankings but Reneau, Mgbako and Rice are going to be coveted by high-major programs.

I had not looked at rankings since the initial top ten list I saw that had both Malik and Mgbako in the top ten so my apologies on not looking at updated rankings and overstating it initially. My overall point of the transfer rankings not being much of a guidance on eventual impact stands.

I don’t disagree with your overall point that rankings aren’t much of a guidance.  I just meant those players you listed won’t be ranked that high, because other than Malik, their values and thus their rankings all fell this year as they should.   Could they rise back up and turn it around at another program, absolutely.  But other than Malik, and I’m no Malik fan, I’d wager  none of them will.  Each of those guys has major flaws.

It’s very likely the NCAA isn’t going to put up a big fight. In an era where the NCAA has given out 6th and 7th year waivers like candy, giving Goode a 5th year after only playing 3 and 1/3 seasons doesn’t seem totally far-fetched.

To me there needs to be some formula where if you get NIL, part of that should cover your scholarship.. The idea you get NIL and a full ride is too much IMO if that's the case.

It's actually probably a very good chance if he sues, and he has a lawyer.  He played 10 games, and it's arbitrary that those games happen at the beginning of the season and going out, instead of end of the season coming in.

So if you are the NCAA, do you double down on a case that's almost like your rules? And go to court?  Or do you grant that and not go to court.  Because if it goes to court, almost all the rules of eligibility could be tossed.  NCAA getting killed.

Maybe they will double down, and you are right.  I'd be shocked.
