He really should be a wing imo particularly for his shooting but he's more in the mold of a Watford - a stretch 4 - agree on adding 2 point / combo guards (hopefully one as a very solid on-ball / playmaking guard as that's needed immediately - how much Cupps will grow by next year remains to be seen. Bako and Malik up front, Trey paired with at least one strong on-ball guard and a legit shooting guard is a strong lineup - if our dead man walking coach finally encourages outside shooting. I am skeptical. I believe it is more likely that we will have some pieces that look good on paper, but do not connect and meld into a cohesive team. I think it will be 'okay' and there will be moments, but will not be inspired or produce hope for the future. Home Jersey, BtownStrength, rcbowla and 11 others 13 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 18, 2024 Author Posted March 18, 2024 Background on Dinkins. Per this article Ajayi is a (F) but when I googled him he was listed as a (G) and I didn't dig any further, https://hoosierillustrated.com/indiana-basketball-reaches-out-to-canisius-transfer-guard/ Quote

Think at the P5 level he's a backup player but he's a decent rim protector and rebounder. In Anthony Walker type of role, he's a quality player getting those type of minutes. Had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 blocks in 23 minutes this year in Drexel's upset win over Villanova. thebigweave, lillurk, MemphisHoosier and 1 other 4 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 19, 2024 Author Posted March 19, 2024 Alec Lasley -- Add Tre Dinkins to the list of players that Indiana has shown some interest in. This is an interesting one -- 2.7 made 3s per game this season. His 85 3s this year would be the most for an IU player since the 2016-17 season. Indiana as a team made just 165 this year.
