We must give them time to can Woody then evaluate whether the player wants to stay.
When Woodson decides who can leave we will hear. Mike Wodson determines who transfers and nobody else.

Wish I could send one of mine, but not this year. Their other school activities have really hit the bank account hard this year.

Hahaha that is chump change for that cookie pyramid scheme! I owe my 6yo dealer, who lives in my house and my wife leads, for 2 cases of cookies. They got me bad this year and are trying to pry some more money out of me now!

The truth comes out!

As a normal person I wouldn’t give either. But say all $6 million in NIL comes from the richest person in Indiana, who has a $6 billion net worth. That’s the same as someone with $100,000 net worth giving $100 to NIL. I know people who spend more than $100 on Girl Scout cookies, because well….thin mints are good. Lol

The troop leader, wife, just read your message and wanted to remind you that there is free shipping currently available through their council, if you order by tomorrow. LOL. Just let me know!

Yeah, I know.  If they want to blow their money who are we to question.  I guess I am glad that someone is willing to do it because it is about the only way we are going to stay competitive, but damn if it isn't about the stupidest system out there.  I get real NIL where you pay a dude to promote your product or whatever but stuff like Hoosier Connect...no way.

Judging by the tweets I have seen so far sounds like Woodson has shown interest in almost every single guy in the portal. Maybe if he throws out 32 offers like in the fall he may catch one or two this time.

Well last time we focused on 5 guys and got 1 impact player (Ware)....so maybe casting a wider net wouldn't be a bad thing.

So the ole Tom Crean shotgun approach it is.

Looks to me to be the shotgn approach. They are already mentioned with like 20 guys and it's only day two

I'm a little surprised no official news of portal entries has dropped yet.

My guess is there is a calculated effort for the timing of news being released to coincide with the tipoff of March Madness Thursday, so anything just goes largely unnoticed.

That, and of course things simply need time to shake out.

IIRC, the school is required to enter a player's name in the transfer portal within a certain amount of time of that player requesting it. I think 48 hours. So I don't think that the school can really control when it happens other than delaying for the maximum amount of time allowed.

We are the arkansas of the transfer portal.  hopefully the big staff has some masterplan in mind.  It's going to take a minor miracle.
I almost forgot though Galloway is back. Remember last year we could not get any guards cause they were scared of him. I guess big men it is again.

Haha. Figuring out IF or HOW they fit together will be another train wreck.

Frankly, this whole approach Is just wrong. The fact that Woodson is here is wrong, and throwing $6M out the window to see who comes running is also just wrong. In fact, the whole thing sickens me.

But, yeah, Mike, you do you. What a self-absorbed pr!ck.

$6 million for 13 players equals an average of $461,500 per player.

If the three lowest paid players make $150,00 each, that leaves $5.5 million-ish for ten players.

If the next lowest five players average $250k each, that leaves almost $1 million per year for our top five players.

That kind of cabbage will buy us a 'best of portal' team in a hurry.

The problem is that if there's a stud to be had other schools will pony up all that money on that one person.

We need shooters but the shooters don't want to play in Woody's archaic system.  They want to play for a guy like Oats.  It may not matter how much money we offer.

Plus, Galloway and Leal are coming back which will scare off good guards. If Cupps returns, we have no chance of landing a guard.
