Uspshoosier Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 There will be plenty of good coaches that will take the job. The job being in the B1G alone will attract most of the coaches outside of the B1G and SEC. With the amount of money those 2 conferences have any coach outside of them that isn’t already a hall of fame coach will take a look. Add the NIL and built in fanbase and IU will be the biggest opening next cycle. Hire a college basketball lifer and you give yourself to be successful. Try another gimmick route to find a coach and continue down the road to being just another program BannerVille, Home Jersey, hoosierfan6157 and 3 others 6

We had our chance quinn but convinced the big money Woodson lovers to triple down on the king. We had our chance to get him last offseason but Buckner decided to prove a point to our fan base by retaining Woody. Pearls not leaving Auburn so don’t get your hopes up. We haven’t been good in a decade, are we really expecting people are going to be lining up to come here to coach? Why wouldn’t Pearl leave Auburn for IU? I feel like IU is one of the very few places he would leave for. MikeRoberts, Chris007 and thebigweave 2 1

Only if whoever he hires next fails and May strives at Michigan. If the next coach kills it at IU and gets things rolling then not many will even bring up the missed opportunity to hire May the cycle before cybergates 1

IUFAN1976 Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 I still say we have a shot at Dusty May! His buyout is affordable, he’s an IU alum, our transfer rules are better than UM and we have a very good NIL system! That’s 4 things going for us! MikeRoberts and Hoosierfanyuh 1 1

Pagoda Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 $4M buyout to UM if we hire Dusty. Very doable.

He wasn’t in the college game long, jumped at his first chance to leave and then got out of coaching altogether. cybergates and Uspshoosier 2

steubenhoosier Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 If May is out of the picture I would throw the Brinks truck at Otzelberger. Played and coached in Wisconsin. Has to know the B1G . Better conference. Better facilities. Better NIL. Next might be Jan’s, who coaches at a football school. If it’s a couple of years before Woodson is gone, I would keep an eye on Jerrod Calhoun from Utah State. Coached at Youngstown State so knows the Midwest. And bonus, we’d be able to resurrect “Calhoun’s health is the word.”
