He also said that many of our new players came from schools that play mostly zone defense, which is why we were having trouble on D., which is not true. Also said we played good defense against Nebraska. So Delusional

To be honest, he is in a tough position. What other coach has to win conference road games, teach new players their defensive strategy and be burdened with not recruiting  HS players? On top of that he has to spend the most NIL money in college basketball on players that he spends no time teaching and yet still find time for wine and stogies.

It's a lot to ask of a mere mortal, good thing...

Torvik Teamcast has same 18-13 projection and us missing the tournament as the 4th team out (without the B1G tourney sim).

Needed to win 2 games in the B1G tourney to be one of the last 4 in.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I took a closer look out of curiosity since we had the same 18-13 projection based on "math" (if you can really call what I did math). My "eye test" prediction would give us a much worse record (14-17, though I hope I'm wrong and am sure it will most likely end up somewhere between the two). This is their projection/line for each game:

789800610_Screenshot2024-12-17at1_01_22PM.thumb.png.5e8e16151e4395ccda70518ac08b46c4.png

So they project 9-11 in conference, beating: Rutger, USC, Maryland, Michigan, Purdue, PSU, OSU at home. Also @ Washington.

My eye test projection says 5-15, beating: Rutger, USC, @ Washington, Ohio State (+ Minnesota that already happened).

The four games where we differ are at home vs. Maryland, Michigan, Purdue, and PSU.

Torvik has the Maryland, Michigan, and Purdue games all within 2 points, 55%. PSU at home is 3.4 spread, 62%.

I don't think at home vs. Rutgers is a sure thing by any means. Not optimistic about either PSU game.

I think even that 18-13 (9-11) record looks mighty optimistic at the moment.

Don't think for a second that Woodson is going to get canned mid-season...

But if we lose 10-12 straight starting with the Iowa game, or only win a couple from Rutgers on 1/2 - PSU on 2/26 ...

I'd not be remotely shocked if Mike Woodson's knee/back "act up" and can't go on the trip out west vs. UW and Oregon.

A couple of months ago we were going to win the big ten and go to the elite 8. Woodson was cooking the twitter cult said. All summer they elevated the king. He could do no wrong per them.

If the king wasn't so damn arrogant he could of left after year two and said he got the program back. Instead his arrogance will lead to him being a laughing stock with colored facial hair

I legit could stomach this season a little bit better if he had even an ounce of humility on this past season's Senior Day.

If he said something to the effect of "This season didn't go the way we expected or wanted, but we're gonna keep fighting to get better. This university deserves more. IU fans deserve more. I appreciate all of your support."

I would be way more inclined to watch games, and would probably feel a connection to this team at least to the point I don't want the head coach run out of town on the next train.

But instead what do we get? An F-U attitude, implying those who question him aren't "true fans", putting forth no effort in recruiting, activating the burner squad on social media, and the business between him and the Hoosier Hysterics coming to light.

Hopefully he doesn't get to resign. I want him fired.

This will fail epically, as it will require at least some rudimentary teaching from the king.

We all know that, I just think he’s getting desperate!  He can’t even teach man-to-man and we know he knows nothing about a zone defense and who on his bench can teach it?  Armond Hill?  Lol

That is exactly what he deserves

I remember literally using some of my vacation days at work to schedule around certain IU basketball games I didn’t want to miss. Now I could have absolutely nothing going on and if a game is on I’m fine with watching something else. I just can’t stand it at all. Couldn’t wait til the season started every year, but now I can’t wait til it ends so I can see if a change is made. This is even way worse than when people wanted Archie out of town.

I am in the same boat.  I posted earlier about getting some free tickets.  At first, I was like no thanks and then I found out they were in the 76-club section.  I had not gotten to see a game there and wanted to see what it was like so I said sure I will go.  I was impressed with the section and told my son that they would be wise to do the other side the same way.  I thought it was a great way to bring in revenue with businesses using them for games.   Back on topic, during the game there was more complaining about the coaching and team than I expected to hear around me.....   Fans are just over it at this point.

Since 2020, there have only been six teams who finished 5-15 or worse in the Big Ten: Nebraska twice, Minnesota twice, Michigan last year and OSU the year before.

We will probably out-talent at least 4 or 5 more teams and catch some people on off nights. Torvik has been less optimistic about this team since before the season so 9-11 is probably closer to where we'll end up.

Scorched earth. He deserves nothing less.

Yeah, if he would've take some ownership of the debacle it may not have been so bad for him. He could've taken the chance to try and reestablish the expectations this program should have. Instead he said he did his job and wasn't going anywhere, because he knows he's protected, and pulled that true fans crap.

Wow the shots from former players and recruits keep landing!

Wow, now that's a nice shot from Liam. I hope that pisses Woodson off.

Fire him. He is the great divider.

Do you think Woodson even knows it's a dig at his offence.  I don't think he thinks there is a problem.
