I really don't get why some wouldn't want Few. The man can flat out coach basketball. Sure, he's not a sexy hire but damn, the guy is one hell of a coach. Give him our NIL and we're in business pretty quick.

I mean... why wouldn't that be a "sexy" hire? I'm with you, but I would call that a power play. Also.. he's pretty well maxed out Gonzaga's capabilities.

Purely based on his personality. He's the complete opposite of Pearl and Beard which is what I gather a lot of folks are  looking for. I want a winner. That's all I care about.

NBA coaching is a way better lifestyle. I personally don’t see Donovan leaving.  
 

Stevens didn’t leave college coaching bc he hated coaching.  Now with Indiana NIL, the timing is perfect for him and he checks every known box … hence why he’s by far and away the #1 candidate

Splitting hairs here, but it's easy to play devil's advocate with Few:

1.) He's older. I know that was ok with Cig, but that limits the time he'd be here and you do wonder about energy levels at a new job. 

2.) He's a very introverted guy. IU had that with Miller and it was a problem. That really laid back personality might work much better at a smaller smaller school in a much smaller conference. 

3.) He has gotten to a lot of Sweet 16s, the question is how much of a that is from building a great record in a less stellar conference? Gonzaga has gotten a lot of really high seeds from good records in a less difficult conference. High seeds make that first weekend of the tournament a lot easier. 

4.) There was that DUI.

5.) Did losing Lloyd as his lead recruiter hurt his recruiting? Wasnt he Few's pipeline to Euros that had created so much of his success? Will he still experience the same level of success w/o them?

I can't imagine, on any realistic list, he wouldn't be in the Top 3-5 candidates, even if some of these points are valid. 

1-3 are more than arguable 

4 ... if he allows that to happen again he's a f'ing moron. Been there, done that, easily avoidable.

There’s a lot to like in regards to #1 in your example.  Who wouldn’t want to own the Boston Celtics?  That team has money running out its @$$ and will forever be part of NBA lore.  In regards to #2, Stevens would be revered in this state if he were to return and lead IU back to prominence.  He can’t lose either way.

Some investigative reporter in Indiana would probably generate some notoriety for themselves by digging into the Quinn Buckner era and writing an exposé. I’m sure there is plenty to cover and probably enough publicly available info to paint a very unpretty picture.
