Hence why they need to fire him now. There isn’t a single world in which it makes a sliver of sense to bring Mike Woodson back next year. Fire him now and get it over with already.

I agree!  I do think this team is one of the most talented in the B10 but they have that boat anchor dragging them down named Mike Woodson!  This team could suddenly get it together and start playing for one another instead of the selfish play we’ve seen.  If they would have decreased their turnovers by 7-8, they most likely beat Turdue.

I know what you mean, but just on this topic if he wanted to come here $5-6M probably gets it done vs the $3.6M he is making now.

I think Michigan is going to try to extend him to 5 right now during the season.

I see people are starting to believe all of these Steven's rumors again.

I really do wish I am wrong this time but I will believe in t when I see it  Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me

What's wrong with some people having hope? Especially if it distracts from the fact this is the only program poorly managed enough to hire Mike Woodson.

Fool me 3 times because I have nothing left but hope.

I believe I am at the “Fool me five times?!?” stage. As the man says, “ i’m vulnerable, but sometimes you have to take some personal responsibility for crying out loud!”

We can come back to this later.

Woodson isn’t leaving till end of year.

Stevens isn’t coming to IU in any fashion.

My guess would be Dusty May or some hungry mid major coach.  I don’t know why we allow ourselves to believe the rumor mill each and every time

Is it hunting season? You need to spend some more time outside. You got bad vibe energy right now.

In my mind, the question with Stevens is how serious he actually considered taking the job last time. I know that folks on the IU side of things believe he was very serious. But we really can't know if Brad felt the same, genuinely, or if he was just playing us.

If he was sincere, then I think he takes the job this time given the uncertainty with the Celtics, the fact he won a title, getting to coach his son, etc.

But if his contract is expiring, then there is a very real chance he's playing us again for leverage to negotiate a better deal with Boston. I hope that's not the case, but I don't think anyone can really know what he's thinking unless they are in his inner circle.

His contract is expiring, August of this year.

I think many have a different view of what “hope” means. I personally “hope” that we hire a college lifer that would die to be the coach at IU and wants to retire as IUs coach.

Edit: To be clear, that in no way was intended to suggest we shouldn't speculate about Stevens anyway. So please keep the rumors coming!

Sorry to quote myself, but I will also say that I'm inclined to think he was legitimately interested. The timing with him taking over for Ainge relatively shortly after the IU rumors suggests to me that the Celtics did cut a deal with him to keep him in the fold. If he was just using IU to get a better deal from Boston, they would have just upped his pay and given hima couple extra years on his coaching contract.

But that may just be the optimist in me...

I see people on a free message board talking about Stevens as a coaching possibility.  No harm in people wanting to believe something will happen.   Kind of what free message boards were made for.  Talking about possibilities

I guess my main concern is that when Steven's isn't hired it will come back as the administration was incompetent. People believe it is going to happen then when it doesn't happen they will blame people even though it wasn't ever a possibility.

I think it will most likely be Dusty but don’t count out someone higher than a mid-major.  Dolson doesn’t want another Archie Miller

Dusty most likely or someone nobodybis talking about.. I don't see stevens as more than fools gold again

Not a thing wrong with it as long as it’s tempered by the idea that what we as fans want from someone dovetails with what they want for themselves. Example: Do I think Brad Stevens is coming to Indiana? Nope. But if he has some CBB coaching itch to scratch this is as good an opportunity as any so I’m willing to swallow this stuff until it’s inevitable end in the hope that I’m wrong. But the Ron Nored stuff needs to stop. That guy’s said a million times that he wants to be a NBA HC. Every step of his career has built to that and he’s gonna get a gig in the next cycle or 2. He’s not coming here to be the AHC. That’s fan wishcasting.
