JSHoosier Posted February 2, 2025 Posted February 2, 2025 We all know the obvious replacement for Woodson is already on the bench, Armond Hill. He's just conserving his energy to take college basketball by storm. tkbbn, Ghost of Rick Majerus, Josh and 2 others 1 4

Why would he want sheewsberry? Does he know him in some way. There is no Iu connection. Only thing they have in common is they both aren’t good at coaching basketball from why I can tell. Pagoda 1

Juwan Moye Posted February 2, 2025 Posted February 2, 2025 So… Brad Stevens as GM and Dusty May as head coach. Will it into existence.
MikeRoberts Posted February 2, 2025 Posted February 2, 2025 I really wish we weren’t wasting our time with Stevens. Continuously using us as a backup plan/bargaining chip while our time and resources could be focused elsewhere. All for a guy that hasn’t coached in college in forever and hasn’t coached at all in many years. On what planet does this make sense? T White, Hoosier DaDa, Hoosierfan2017 and 3 others 6
IUFAN1976 Posted February 2, 2025 Posted February 2, 2025 I say a hard NO to Shrewsberry as head coach! Anyone that is endorsed by Woodson, Buckner, Isiah Thomas, or anyone affiliated with that bunch, will be bad and not work out. Also, it will set us bask another 4 years and we will never recover from. It does possible with Stevens, and I like the idea of Cuban being the GM and Steven’s the coach. Steven’s being the GM and May coach could work too! But like the 1st option Kentuckysucks 1
Gameface01 Posted February 2, 2025 Posted February 2, 2025 Does Woodson accept an NIT bid this year? Those decisions have always seemed to be telling
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 2, 2025 Posted February 2, 2025 Cuban may be too busy with the Adelson and Dumont families getting into the casino business in Texas. That was one reported reason he sold an interest in the Mavericks to them so he'd have cash to pony up for his investment when gambling is legalized.

I was told the first offer that happened last week was still 7 years 70 million but could go up to 12 million a year. I have never heard anyone mention Schrews name. Woodson has been open in telling people that IU is going hard after Stevens. The other stuff about family seems to be correct but not sure about the Boston wanting him to fulfill his contract. I already didn't want Shrewsberry as the next coach based on his record, now I want him even less. I think we can say the only part that is true is IU is pining for Steven’s again. I would in no way want Woody to have any hand in choosing the next coach, but I can see it from his perspective. He has to know this is going south and it’s killing his once stellar reputation with his only fan base—IU fans. So as part of his negotiating his exit him and Buckner try and get a say in the next coach so if they succeed he can basically be welcomed back and essentially frame it as “I saved IU from the disastrous Archie era and helped set us up for the current guy (who ideally is succeeding).” At first the Shrews thing seems random but 1) he knows him from their time in the B1G, and 2) possibly knows him from their time as nba assistants. They’re both from Indianapolis and maybe they have an old/guy young guy relationship surrounding that fact. Seems ridiculous but technically plausible. Also, if Buckner and Dolson have that adversarial relationship, you know the Woody-Buckner camp is going to push someone that isn’t a Steven’s/May Dolson dream candidate.
