I don't know if any of that is true but I will say that it's both hilarious and true to character for Woodson to think he's done enough to get to choose his replacement.

I already didn't want Shrewsberry as the next coach based on his record, now I want him even less.

If Buckner and Thomas were to back Shrewsberry then we know that hire would be an unmitigated disaster.

Why would he want sheewsberry?  Does he know him in some way.  There is no Iu connection.  Only thing they have in common is they both aren’t good at coaching basketball from why I can tell.

Well, kings DO get to choose their successor, so...LOL

I wish, but USC is very close to home for him and his dad played for Musselman at Golden State. I would love for us to have Elijah but that's one we have less than zero chance of ever getting sadly lol

Unless?  Musselman to IU?  Lol

I say a hard NO to Shrewsberry as head coach!  Anyone that is endorsed by Woodson, Buckner, Isiah Thomas, or anyone affiliated with that bunch, will be bad and not work out.  Also, it will set us bask another 4 years and we will never recover from.

It does possible with Stevens, and I like the idea of Cuban being the GM and Steven’s the coach.  Steven’s being the GM and May coach could work too!  But like the 1st option

Cuban may be too busy with the Adelson and Dumont families getting into the casino business in Texas.  That was one reported reason he sold an interest in the Mavericks to them so he'd have cash to pony up for his investment when gambling is legalized.

I think we can say the only part that is true is IU is pining for Steven’s again.

I would in no way want Woody to have any hand in choosing the next coach, but I can see it from his perspective. He has to know this is going south and it’s killing his once stellar reputation with his only fan base—IU fans. So as part of his negotiating his exit him and Buckner try and get a say in the next coach so if they succeed he can basically be welcomed back and essentially frame it as “I saved IU from the disastrous Archie era and helped set us up for the current guy (who ideally is succeeding).”

At first the Shrews thing seems random but 1) he knows him from their time in the B1G, and 2) possibly knows him from their time as nba assistants. They’re both from Indianapolis and maybe they have an old/guy young guy relationship surrounding that fact.

Seems ridiculous but technically plausible. Also, if Buckner and Dolson have that adversarial relationship, you know the Woody-Buckner camp is going to push someone that isn’t a Steven’s/May Dolson dream candidate.
