Another site has their video analysis of the play.  Wash is the one telling Woodson to sub.  It's a cluster farque of epic proportions.

The other part about a meeting about the fans booing. That - sure - I believe that may have happened. I'm just not sure what the substance of that meeting would be. "Scott, the fans keep booing me, what do we do?" "I don't know, Woody - maybe win?" Death threats (if true) are totally unacceptable but booing comes with the territory and honestly, it's well deserved. It's only going to get worse.

'Death threats' can come in many forms and widely different degrees of concern.  Someone e-mailing anonymously 'You are a horrible coach and are ruining this program, I hope you die!' probably constitutes a death threat.  My guess is that Tom Crean probably received anonymous e-mails like that after the loss to Syracuse.  Not sure bringing things up that have no credible reason to believe are actual threats.  If they were credible, they would have the police investigating.

I understand discussing death threats if they are truly being made (although, let's face it, they aren't legitimate threats).

But exactly what is there to discuss about the booing?  Can't force fans to respect you....gotta earn it.  They are going to continue to boo bad coaching.

IMO it's a collective fabrication to try to build cover for Woodson's epic failure. If he can't convince is he's the greatest coach ever, he's trying to garner sympathy.

Those exact burners have been hinting at racism from the fanbase all season long. Using the words “hick”, making fun of “dales”, saying we won’t accept Shaka Smart as a coaching candidate as he’d be hated from the beginning. It’s offensive.

 

I’m not saying some racism doesn’t exist but it was never a reason people thought Woodson would fail from the beginning. Age, lack of experience, dated systems, etc, etc were concerns. Not race.

 

As far as why Woodson is getting more vitriol than Archie? Woodson offended the majority of the fanbase on Senior night. Created a burner army to fight fans online. Caused more divisiveness than I’ve ever seen from #iubb. Archie sucked. But he tried and understood he failed. Woodson spins his own narrative and they all believe the fanbase is racist and that why they (we) don’t like him.

 

I’m a merit based guy on everything. You win or you lose. You take accountability. If you aren’t good enough, you move along respectfully.

We have all the evidence we need that the administration is incompetent. They hired Mike Woodson to begin with. Nevermind wu$$y footing around the timing of letting him go. He should never have gotten the job. Rank incompetence

All the above.  Racism, IMO, was never a factor at all.  He’s backed into a corner, and he will go out kicking and screaming and he doesn’t care who he takes down, involve, or gets in his way!

If Woody doesn't like the booing, just announce that you are going to retire at the end of the season. If you want to be really classy, just say I really wanted to restore the program to greatness and I feel bad that I wasn't able to get that done. I'd say the booing stops and the team and the fans might actually rally behind him!
