Certainly was the time to move.  But my money says Quinn and Co. blocked it. Or the suggestion was made to Mediocre Mike to announce an end of season retirement and he refused, or took it under advisement.

QBall has interfered way too much and he should have state in his own lane!  #|~#%+%^\|>?!.,?}%###}}}}. That is me saying many bad words!

Ok guys…

Last nights game changed EVERYTHING.

That’s my unpopular opinion.  He’s still gone at the END of the season.  If we had got blown out last night, and blown out at Northwestern then that would have been it.  I mean he is not walking into SSAH after that.  I mean besides, who doesn’t like to get blown anyways right?

That win saved him for the time being.  Look at how HARD the team played.  The coaches were coaching hard too.  Woodson’s reaction after the game said it all.  He knew it.  They all knew it.

I think that there is a real chance this team goes 11-9 in conference and wins a game in the conf tourney.  That gets them in March Madness and Woodson can say he got us back or whatever he wants to say and goes out on good terms.

Now the only way that happens is if Mgbako sits.  I have said since the first time I saw him play he can’t play at this level.  I argued Banks should have started over him but this staff couldn’t unlock Banks.  He doesn’t have the athleticism or motor to play at this level.  Leal should have been playing a lot more minutes his whole career here.  He won Woodson two games last year after all.  Btw when are teams going to learn you can’t iso Leal late in games?  Goode is not going to score like that every game but he will score enough.  MR will be back.  Mgbako should not be starting, and should be around 10 minutes per game.  He shouldn’t be in late game situations.  Idk if Woodson sees it but I hope he has seen enough to cut down his minutes.

We are NOT what our record says we are.  We are not good, but there is a path to get 10 or 11 wins and a possible March Madness invitation.  Last night’s game did change some things.  Having said all that, I really hope that I’m wrong.

One unlucky bounce for ohio state did change things. Quinn will sure he get every chance to turn it around and give his I saved indiana speech at ths end if the year. That win saved Woodson for sure. One point saved him til years end at least.

Before the next game. 3 games from now. End of the season. As long as he's gone at the end of the season, I don't really care when it happens.

We will get blown out multiple times between now and the end of the season. This team has been shown to be able to get motivated and play well enough to win for a game or two. Then they revert back to not caring because they can't maintain that.

B and W may be out to night having a glass of wine on how to scheme a plan if you want to beat Ohio State before overtime and NW in the same week then give us more NIL money (maybe a raise to).

Hey babe!  You come here often?  Can I buy you a drink?   Welcome back.  Seems forever since you've posted.

A drink huh.  Have things changed as far as your situation?  I have to know!  I haven’t posted in forever.  (I have my reasons).

NW is struggling.  What I earlier assumed would be an on the road loss, looks like a possible win.  Allows a couple of home losses and still maintain a .500 big10 record.

I hear you.  Collins is just a 10x better coach.

he would be on my personal short list, but still don’t think it goes past Stevens & May.

Great take— I’ll give a couple thoughts. First I don’t think anyone watching last night thought we looked good, more like less bad than whatever that OSU team is lol. I don’t think it or NW move the needle too much, and I’m also not convinced 11-9 gets us in without a win or two in BTT as you said. The computers hate us, we gained one spot for the supposed Q1a win last night. OSU dropped 8. And I imagine that team will be outside the top-75 by seasons end or close to it.

You are spot on with Mgbako. He’s just not athletic enough for this level beyond spot up shooting. We need his scoring, and used correctly with sets for open shots in spot situations he’s an asset.

As to your last paragraph— this is why I think 11-9 is probably a pipe dream as it is. We will get torched several more times this year. I’m guessing at least 2-3 20ish point losses before it’s over. I think the thing still working in our favor so to speak is Michigan. They have to know it will be ugly if we are getting dog walked. Maybe they don’t care. I have to think they do. Even announcing retirement probably eases the vitriol from the students. Ahh well, time will tell, but like I said earlier today, I’m convinced it’s over. It just needs to be announced for the sake of the fanbase.

I’ll probably get roasted for this take, but here goes. There is a small part of me that actually feels bad for Woody sometimes. I don’t like seeing him look lost and generally miserable. Him acting like we just made the final four after beating  that Ohio State team in that fashion was just sad to me. It was admittedly hilarious, but sad. The state of our program is just sad. It’s sad we got here. It’s sad two Hoosier legends have completely tarnished their legacies in the eyes of a not insignificant number of fans and alumni. I say that to say, I agree with you, I just want us to definitively turn the page. Fired, retiring at end of season it matters not to me. I don’t wanna watch him stand there when students start chanting for Dusty if they’ve done nothing by that game. Sorry for the rant, I’m just over it too.

I think we all on this thread want him gone!  I wanted him gone the day before yesterday but here we are.  He has made a laughing stock of our basketball program and the university, but I also blame the university too and yet here we are!  The university will drag this out because they think it is bad optic but they will allow this to drag until things get much worse!  Honestly, they pretty much stated what they are all about when they didn’t do anything last year, but he did his job and the called out fans for not being true fans which was probably why the fans did what they did at the Illinois game and yet here we are!

FIRE MIKE WOODSON IMMEDIATELY!!!

This, friends, is where we find ourselves. These contrasting views of Indiana basketball, Mike Woodson and handwriting on the wall. Woodson's hubris makes sympathy and even compassion difficult for many.

Woodson needs to go -- sooner rather than later.. and the $20M in salary and parting gifts for what he's given us over the past 4 years makes me want to call hellfire and brimstone down on him. I'm not finding a lot of room, personally, for sympathy or compassion.

I agree with some of that.  We did win against a bad team and looked as bad as they did.  It’s about stacking wins.  There are opportunities out there to do so.

Mgbako can sit.  Goode can play 40 minutes.  It won’t happen but we have options.  I sadly expect to see Mgbako in the starting lineup against Northwestern.  Can’t win with him.  My only hope is CMW at least drastically cuts his minutes.

We will have more double digit losses, but there are enough wins out there to put us in a position to make the tournament.  He’s gone at the end of the season but not before.

Exactly.
I’m confident Woody won’t be here next year because I’m confident he can’t get a team to the second weekend in March.
We’ll probably lose at NW, but beat a similarly flawed Maryland team at home. There will be some road beat downs along the way but there’s a path to 10-11 conference wins and a quick tourney exit.

After that, things will start moving. I’m going to try to stay outta this thread until something is actually announced by the school.

10 or 11 wins isn't getting Indiana into anything but the NIT. Gotta win 12+. Probably 13+.
