Even Steve is allowable to provide Scott the full runway now. There’s no one left in Woody’s corner. This was a “prove it” year by giving him almost unlimited funds. If he can’t prove it now, then they have been given their answer.

And that's a spiritual, academic, and character formation in athletics. So for us to be able to incorporate the spiritual part has been so key and paramount to all our success and He's blessed us."

Drew told RFI that seeing players accept Christ is "more exciting" than winning any game. 

"Seeing the spiritual growth guys. Players who accept Christ, players who maybe prayed for the first time with the team, players who get baptized, players who come back and get Bible studies and go to church and you know that's what really exciting," he expressed.  

"Sometimes those victories are not written and talked about in the newspapers or TV, but again, those are the ones that really matter," he added. 

When asked about the importance of religious freedom in America, Drew said he is glad to be at a Christian university where he can openly share his faith.

"Baylor University gives you that opportunity. Spiritually we're allowed to have an impact in our players' lives, so many of my coaching friends [that] are devout in their faith are at institutions where they can't," he explained. "I am a much better husband, father, spiritually I have grown from the staff that we have because we will do coach's bible studies together and we start every meeting in prayer."

Drew adds that it is the culture of "joy, Jesus, others, and yourself" that will continue to propel the program forward. 

"We have also been a Christ-centered program and that is our foundation," he said.

So in this new era of the transfer portal Brad Stevens joins as our “GM” and his first hire is Dusty May as our head coach.

Not convinced Hulls deserves a promotion, though. Current role-- "Team and Recruiting Coordinator" .... what does that entail?

What really sucks is having two months of the season left with very little actual substance to discuss. The fact is, we should be talking about Dusty’s first year at IU right now. Instead we have to speculate and beat multiple dead horses: should Woody go now, or end of season? How realistic is Brad Stevens (or not)? Everyone has different ideas but the product on the court sucks and until an announcement on the coaching future has been made we’re just spinning our wheels. The narrative around IUBB needs to change asap so the healing can begin.

• As an NBA head coach:
  • Eight seasons
  • Seven playoff appearances
  • 56% winning percentage
• As an NBA GM (relevant because a college head coach builds the roster):
  • Four seasons
  • Three conference finals
  • One NBA champion

I think the questions surrounding Stevens have little to do with his resume. Does he have the drive to get back into college coaching? Is he prepared to recruit not just locally but nationally 8-9 months out of the year? Does he want to babysit 18-22 year old college students? 

I think these are all legitimate concerns and a big reason why he transitioned out of college and out of coaching altogether. I don't want Stevens here unless he's 110% committed, rather than simply fulfilling some childhood dream.

He is Steve's godson and was untouchable the first 3 years

IU hired Pam, she loves athletics, She let Scott get rid of Allen and let him hire Cigs

Woodson still sucks, but his buddies can't save him any longer, Scott has power now.
