If I'm Woody and looking at our remaining games....I'm resigning or making Scott fire me. Purdue might, sorry 100% will, hang 100 on us and the mere thought of Dusty coming into Bloomington and getting the cheers and chants, not to mention the W, why deal with that ****? There's so little he can do short of an Elite 8 or better that will please us at this point. That is not happening. 

Woody - you still have a legacy at IU - don't completely ruin it. It didn't work, man. Move on.

This is the concern. Buckner will not turn his back on Woodson...and he probably cares less about the state of the program than Woodson. Buckner is quite literally a huge bottleneck in all of this.

Cashy is a classic internet Machiavellian troll: seemingly above the fray (but really is the fray) and knowledgeable (but without any specifics and only a general and broad reactionary to elicit a response). This board's finest of the sort. I'm more of a regular over at HSN than here, but surfing around for the tidbits of a rumors and news today. This person is a pro at what they do: troll while maintianing an effort to appear intellectually honest. Otherwise, Cashy wouldn't respond to emotional responses him/herself.

It all has to die...and a new voice, with new traditions, new facilities, new identity, new expectations, new everything has to be reborn. We have to step into the current times and modernize the program. Give the new coach total control to change whatever they want, to try to rise this program from the ashes. 

No.  All we need is a competent coach who knows what he is doing.  Mix the new with the old traditions.  Recruit the right players.  Put them in a position to succeed -- sound offense/defense schemes.  With the right guy, it's actually simple (not easy).  Crean was almost the right guy, but had some gaps.  Archie and Woodson, not so much.  But there are plenty of guys out there that won't make us look like a laughingstock that we are this morning.

He could care less about the program. This is about Woodson to him and pride. If the king goes down he is probably happy as much damage is done as possible.

Our old friend Lawrence Frank did OK. Dude was in a history class of mine at IU. Fast forward 13 or 14 years and I see on ESPN that he's been named head coach of the New Jersey Nets. 

That one still throws me for a loop!

Neither of those interim solutions worked well for us. Look at the landscape of college and pro sports and provide examples of interim coaches, appointed after a coach was fired for performance, succeeded. Ed Orgeron was hired at USC after Pat Haden blew out Lane Kiffin, but his tenure there was short-lived. Temporary fixes are just that - it’s baling wire and duct tape.
