And when the dust settled they have a top 10 team, play an exciting/modern style of basketball, and Pope looks to be a great fit. 

He'll be judged by how he does in the tournament though. That's always been his big question mark.

Yes. Beard says that the domestic violence altercation happened because he was drunk, and that he still drinks but now controls his temper. 

Kevin Wilson-problem vibes are an absolute no-no.

A bunch of the ones with eligibility after this year could be excellent with the right work ethic and coaching development instilled. Guys like Rice, Tucker, Carlyle, Newton, and Reneau could be real, major assets.

I would be very surprised if that happens. I have been surprised before though. Also, UK ended up with one of their own. Just like we could end up with one of ours.

Which 'one of our own' is even viable?

• Lewis is about to have his second straight losing season at Ball State,
• Fife has been out of coaching for three years and left on less than great terms,
• Alford is 60 and Nevada has been crap two of the past four years

... and I can't even think of another IU one of our own college basketball ready coach other than those three.
