Soon to RETIRE Coach Woodson Thread

I think one thing that does concern me is today was the first time it has looked like Woody specifically adjusted the scheme. Almost like he was told to or else. He went a long stretch with only one center and MM at the 4. We played so much better and he subbed MR back in, offense stalled with two centers and he took him back out with like 3 to go and we iced it. Maybe it was just a fluke rotation, but he looked like he was deliberately not running KW and MR at the same time. With the lane unclogged it opened the offense up. Shouldn’t have taken 28 games to figure out.

When he was running them together, KW was hanging around outside a lot more.

I'm guessing the administration told Dolson he better have someone lined up as well as a legit backup plan. Idc what anyone says I still believe Dolson thought Stevens was coming in 2021 and that caused this hire to happen. Woodson's name didn't even come up until the second week of the search after all the Stevens noise died off.

I still hope that the university and Woodson agree to just part ways at the end of the year and he doesn't have to be fired. For the 1000 time I'll say: Mike Woodson isn't getting fired because of the results this season. He would get fired because there is no long term plan for this program. '24 and '25 were supposed to be his classes. One recruit signed and 2025 doesn't seem any better. Living through the portal isn't a success plan. I'm not even certain he could do that. Look at this season for example. It was well known IU would have to hit a few home runs in the portal. Really only one in Kel'el.

I’m interested in knowing if our top guy is actually making Quinn go “you know what, that’d be a great get, let’s do it. I’ll talk to Woody”, or if Dolson is doing this completely bypassing Quinn’s thoughts on the matter.

If Quinn Buckner doesn't think Bruce Pearl would be a great get, he has ZERO business having any say in basketball decisions at Indiana University. Unfortunately I think is is more so Dolson is bypassing him given the support he would have.

I'll add in the fact that if anyone at Indiana University doesn't think Bruce would be a great fit, they have zero business having any say in the basketball decisions. If IU were to land Pearl it would be one of the top 4 happiest moments of my fandom:

1) Beating Duke in the 02 Sweet 16

2) The Wat Shot

3) Winning the B1G outright in 2013

So we’re about to see a bidding war between Stevens and Donovan for Tom Allen’s house. See, the market always comes to you.

I wonder what kind of house you can buy in central Pennsylvania with $15 million

If Quinn has any say this time around, we're getting Isiah

Quinn won 13 games as an NBA coach sonl he already has no business making bbal decisions. None. But my guess is quinn wants Isiah as stated.

Well, then it is Scott's duty to ask the follow up question -- Ok Mike, well X is out of eligibility, so who is going to take his place.  Looking at your portal picks last year, there isn't anyone.  Looking at your incoming class of 1, there isn't anyone.  Why haven't you planned for this eventuality?

And Woodson will be completely blindsided by the fact that X is done...

Whiten vetoed Dolson’s first choice for the football job. It’s good that she doesn’t hate sports like the last President, but I wouldn’t count on her being anything more than a neutral factor when it comes to sports.
Who was the 1st choice? I don't recall anything like that. She wasn't ok with Fitzgerald but that doesn't mean he was #1. Quite frankly we got the best we could get imo
