Probably because the opposing coach was essentially taunting him for being dumb in the post game presser , and there’s about two dozen other games where coaches tripped him up with zones. We win that game 90% of the time with any competent xs and os coach. And lose it 90% of the time with Crean at the helm, imo. thebigweave 1 Quote
DChoosier Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 Looked like crap. 6th banner is looking like a long shot I still think we beat OSU at home to go to 3-1. Quote

And Woodson is NOT the answer. He had 6/1000 point scorers on that team also. Biggest bust goes to Tommy Naismith. Quote

monskisprodigy Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 Tonight was really disappointing and embarrassing. Hadn’t lost to Nebraska since 2017…and this isn’t even a good Nebraska team…just unacceptable. We are what we are… tkbbn 1 Quote

I talked to a knowledgeable Syracuse grad prior to the game expecting he would agree it would be a tough game. Instead he surprised me by saying “we kill teams with midget guards like you guys”. 5’11” Hulls, basically playing with a sling, and 5’11” freshman Yogi got eaten alive on the perimeter by their 6’7” lottery pick guard. Cody had a very bad game. It was a terrible match-up and match-ups matter in the tourney. In the following game Syracuse held Marquette to 39 points. I’m not saying Crean did a great job but sometimes it seems like people think we lost to UE. BGleas and ray 2 Quote

I’m not saying Crean did a great job but sometimes it seems like people think we lost to UE. People always leave out that 2/3 zone Cuse had that year was a top 10 defense. And that team was a preseason top 5 team that had a bad stretch that bumped them down. I remember doing bracketology that year and when they blew that big lead against Louisville in the Acc tourney finals and lost I knew they were going to be under seeded and it would cost someone. This team and game hurt so many IU fans because it was the best chance IU had at a deep March run in a very long time. Reality was there were other teams just as good and teams that were definitely playing better than them in March. Disappointing finish but wasn’t unexpected after the way IU finished that year. ray and DChoosier 2 Quote
