Huge hangover after the Kansas game, so I'm just happy we avoided a loss.

I've accepted the fact this will be closer to a floor year than a ceiling year for IUBB, and that's ok.

We all want Final 4 appearances, but there's no shame in establishing the floor of this program still resulting in a tournament appearance and finishing in the top half of the B1G.

IUs scheduling this year was actually what people wanted.   Only a couple games against teams near 300 and more games against teams around 150 and lower.   Louisville being as bad as they are is a killer.   Usually when you get a neutral court win against a power 5 team it’s at least a Q2 win.   This Louisville team is a Q4 win.    IUs non con SOS will not be a problem this year.

There are many things I like about Gabe Cupps game, but I have to wonder what is he doing in these 5 AM workouts. It sure isn't shooting.

He has to find a way to help on the offensive end. We can't play 4 on 5. Get us some layups, a 3, an elbow jumper, just something.

He always looks off-balance on his jump shots.

He needs to be told to shoot. He's point guard and not a scoring guard. He had Reed Sheppard in HS to get buckets. He just needs that confidence given to him. Same for Galloway even. Shoot the freaking ball if you have a sliver of space. Gotta let it fly.

His warm up shots are completely different from his in game shots. At half-time last night, I lost count of how many 3s he hit. All warmup shots were straight up and down, no lateral movement, just a funky shot form, but they went in at a high clip. I assume that most practice shots are the same.

You could probably say the same about CJs shots as well, he hit a lot in warmups where he wasn't jumping through the roof and had great form.

I've given up on CJ and Banks isn't too far behind. I hate saying that just haven't seen the improvement that I thought I would. Gunn was my favorite player starting the season.

It has to be a mental thing, Cupps fading back or to the side, to not get blocked? CJ, IDK, but needs to take a chill pill before each game. Banks, I am not as concerned about, his mechanics seem ok, but I don't think when he was recruited that anyone thought he would be a solid contributor until later.

Overall, this team just flat out lacks confidence in anything they do and there is no true leader on the floor at any time. Someone, outside of Trey, needs to step up (I love TG, but he is not a leader like that), Walker seemed to do ok at it last night, but as someone else posted, he is a one year rental.

I have no idea what your actual point is.

I know lol.

I found it funny that we were told a one point win was better than a one point loss with a whole paragraph.  I tried to show the absurdity of it with sarcasm but your sarcasm meter didn't pick up on it.

Not really.  Guys have to stop watching “highlight” reels and watch the lowlights.

That really has nothing to do with my reply.  I was replying to the fact that someone said five star players they think of great athletes.

Jerry Meyer 247 description of Lander out of high school.  The point I was making was that someone said when they think of a five star player that those players are great athletes.  That was a description that was given to Lander.:

Average size for a point guard. Left handed. Both a smooth and explosive athlete. Has a tremendous burst to the rim off the dribble. Creative ball handler and finisher. Good passer as well. Streaky outside shooter at this point. Rebounds his position. Has potential to be high quality defender.

I know you were being sarcastic, just find it incredibly ironic that your combating someone telling you with a 'whole paragraph' that a one point win is better than a one point loss by making three or so replies with sarcasm and then throwing in the 'extensions for everyone' jab meant you were spending more time replying to the post than anyone spent writing one.
